hey Guys, i own a 91 gs 500. I bought these little LED lights for the bottom of the bike. I put them on the bottom bars of the bike, and just ran the wires straight to the positive and negative of the battery. I had put a Switch in the middle soo when i wanna turn them off or on i just use the switch instead having to take them off the battery. For some reason, it's blowing my main fuse, I came home tonight and coming in the driveway my headlight dimmed rite out, when i let her idle she's fine, soon as i step the bike up she boggs out and the headlight dimes out bad. I shut the bike off and was gonna start the bike back up and nuttin she flew the main fuse. Anyone help me thanks

do you mean the relay?  or do those things have some kind of control box to limit voltage/current?

all leds, if it's a quality system will include a resistor to limit amprage to the actual leds, otherwise it's like opening the floodgates to the batt.  but I really don't know what I am talking about (see sig)  starwalt is the guy to ask about electrical crap.

By running direct to the battery you have bypassed the fuse.  I don't think the LEDs are the source of your problem.

You can test this theory by disconnecting the LED wiring at the battery, replacing the fuse and see what happens.

Yes.  At 12V an unprotected LED will blow with the speed of light.

But I wouldn't expect it to draw enough current to blow a 20A fuse.
