another 650?! [*56K BEWARE!*]

so i picked up my new motorcyclist mag out of the mail today and they had an article on the new '06 models of yammies, a honda and a suzuki, and kawasaki.  the latter was like yada yada yada, but i came across the '06 kawasaki ninja 650.  wow.  i guess it was a big thing in europe or something...and that it was nekkid but i guess they're bringing a fully faired version to the states.  i'm not sure what to think of it yet.  i like the sv650s and all, but this bike is aimed directly for it.  no real specs as of yet but claimed to have the same power as the beloved sv.

but then i got to thinking.  i sort of want a 650s, but the ninja650 is closer to the gs.  it's a parallel twin and supposedly has a low seat height.  i sorta need a low seat...the fairings look ok, and it has a weird underbelly muffler.  so far no aftermarket accessories but i'm not sure of its potential.  the colors are ok but i like the red frame.  it's also FI and fully faired.

ok i know it's not a suzuki...but hey, it's closer to the gs than the 650s.  just wondering what the rest of you think...

I like it but I think it would be better with out the fairing.  But then it wouldn't be a Ninja.  Mebbe they could call it a ZRX650 instead and dump the fairing.

I'm digg'n the bike :kiss:  but a 650 parallel twin? dang that's a serious bore/storke combination..... maybe redline at 18k :lol:  :lol: ?

Personaly I'm going to wait to see what the reviews are about it....wait for the mag's 650 shoot-out that you know is comming up some time soon :mrgreen:  and of course give production a year to see if the un fairing model makes it to the States.

Anybody have specs regarding:
wheelbase?
wet weight/dry weight?
projected kawi. HP? [TQ would be nice to know vs SV...]

the guy from the local kawi dealership gave me a call and told me they are going for $8500 Canadian(cheaper than the SV650s). Told me if I place an advance order he'll knock off $500...I really hope I win the lottery tomorrow!
