So I have an odd request.  I'm riding down to Richmond for a Halloween party next Saturday.  Anyone want to punch in Fairfax, VA to Richmond, VA in to Streets & Trips or whatever other software and get me a nice route?

I'd like to avoid highways and thought someone here might have a better idea than me just picking the twisty roads off a map.

Thanks

i'll check into it today or tomorrow.  i was thinking about going to richmond that weekend myself, but i'm not sure yet.  I'll let you know what i come up with.
LIFE should NOT be a journey to the GRAVE with the intention of arriving SAFELY in an attractive and well PRESERVED body, but rather to SKID in sideways, CIGAR in one hand, favorite beverage in the other, body thoroughly USED UP, totally WORN OUT, and screaming WOW - WHAT A RIDE!

OPTION 1: US-301

Miles: 128 miles
Hours: 2 hours, 50 minutes

Good: It's not I-95
Bad: It's not that twisty

OPTION 2: US-15, US-522, US-33

Miles: 137 miles
Hours: 2 hours, 44 minutes

Good: It's twistier than option 1
Bad: It's still not twisty enough

OPTION DA BEST: I-66, Skyline Drive, I-64

Miles: 260 miles
Hours: 6 hours, 6 minutes

Good: Skyline Drive! :thumb:
Bad: Pay $5 :x

My hunch was right...Pandy is the biggest Post Whore!

Thanks JetSwing.  That will give me some roads to work with.

i looked at those... by the way thanks jetswing for doing the dirty work for me...

Personally, i think option 2 is probably best and most practical for me on this trip.  I know those roads pretty well and although they're not that twisty, it's all rural and rolling hills, so it's a nice ride.

Is the Skyline  a new edit?  How could I have missed that earlier? haha.  I may just have to go that route  :)   Make a day of it  8)

remember that the time posted is most likely an over estimate.
