Holy freakin' hell yes. That looks awesome...

Although... NO GS500?! WTF... Screwballs. I wonder why Ducati didn't get any of the Monsters in there, or the SS1000 or some of the classic bikes. They're all about history. Ah well. Not a bad line up of bikes, if I do say so.

Jazzzzz

A 600RR is only pushing 70hp while a GSXR 600 is running almost 120? Is that right?

roguegeek

Not even close, but the images and video are from a beta build so I'm sure there's tons of mistakes in it.

The rider is looking straight down at the ground?

They've had one of those (blue 1200) at Aurora Suzuki for months now.  Someone go get it. ;)

That's awesome. Suppose to be more of a simulator than a game. The more bike, the better if ya ask me. :thumb:

Looks pretty killer. :thumb:   Does anybody know if you are going to mod the bikes, like in GT?  I think this game is a big step in the right direction. It shows an increased interest in motorcycles, and not in a negative way.  I know this will kinda cancel my last statement, but I'd love to see a Need-For-Speed Underground Motorcycle edition.  You could do wild paintjobs and chrome, and N02, and turbos.  I honestly like modding video game vehicles more than the racing, so...

Sounds like it's going to have mods up the butt. You're also going to be able to adjust just about everything that could be adjusted on the bikes.

If you think about it, Gran Turismo did an amazing thing and peaked a lot of people's interest in motor sports. The producers of TT said they expect to perk interest in motorcycling with this game just like how GT did back in 1997.

IGN has put up another preview of Tourist Trophy along with even more pics if anyone is interested

Here's an excerpt that made me think this game is really going to be something unique and special:
Whereas most every racing game gives you direct control over your vehicle, Tourist Trophy is a little bit different in that it simulates the movement of the bike which is directly based on the movement of the rider. In essence, you're controlling your on-screen biker who's controlling the bike. It may sound a tad strange, but it makes perfect sense when you think about how a bike's movement affects a rider and vice-versa; you can't exactly have one without the other, and it's much more realistic for you to control the rider than the actual bike itself. Of course, in practice they feel one and the same as the bike is essentially an extension of your rider's body, but it's design approaches like this that define Polyphony.

Controlling character movement instead of directly controlling the bike. Sounds pretty good to me. I can't wait! :thumb:

For what it's worth, I played this at motorcycle show.  It seems like a decent game, but I found it really difficult.  I'm used to playing more arcade-y car racing games like Burnout, where you slide like crazy through the turns and don't give a damn.  In TT you really do have to set the speed for your turns, than maintain throttle through the turns, just like they told me during the MSF.  They even have a friendly reminder to brake when a turn is coming up.  Despite this, I was constantly dumping the bike in turns thanks to braking and inconsistent throttle in the turns..  It was high-side city.

Maybe I shouldn't get a motorcycle after all. :)

I actually prefer simulator type racing games. Yeah the arcade sliding like crazy ones are fun, but the simulators require a lot more skill and are much more challenging. This games looks like a lot of fun, but nonetheless it still bothers me that the riders are looking at the ground in front of them when they're in the middle of a turn!
