Cops....WTF...

I have a lot to live for and I could lose a lot if I got pulled over doing something really stupid.

A lot to live for?  Man, that's dramatic.  Cops don't kill you for speeding, man!  Mostly it just costs money.

  Yes I would have gave him a ticket, I am a Florida state trooper and a biker, I always keep an eye out for pedestrians and bikers. I can only suggest  that you write a nice letter to the Police Chief or Sheriff's dept or who ever it was  about your mishap, tell them that your a little disappointed but be nice about it and its more than likely to be mentioned at a brief !!!   Sorry to hear about it though.

Maybe he didn't see it?  I mean he could've been looking the other way, talking on the radio, checking whatever doohickey cops check when stopped?

Not saying that he didn't see it, but its a possibility.

I've only had two experiences with cops, in my car.  One for running a stop sign (on Halloween, no less) which I got no ticket for.  The other one was really stupid.. I was leaving blockbuster and it has a very well lit parking lot, so I forgot to turn my lights on.  But the time I pulled out to the road they were on, the cop pulled me over and goes.. 'your lights weren't on when you pulled out of the lot'.  So I explained and he let me go on my merry way.

  Yea they do have us multitasking more now that we've got a radio to keep an ear on and a computer to keep an eye on and we too have to deal with our cell phone's (wife's, girl friends, kids, etc.), and yes wondering were the next doughnut shop is (we to have to eat)

Yeah in Aust the cops have become a bit slack with speeding because there busy having to chase all the Lebos in NSW for drugs, assualt and theft which dosen't give them time to worry about speeding unless there blitzing one of the places where cars gather on Fri and Sat nights the only time you think they worry about speeding is on long weekends and school holidays where they say if you get pulled over its a double points booking but as I have found at those times most cops are taking holidays themselves or the state govt wont fund public holiday over time so you get a lot less cops at that time, having said that if your unlucky enough to booked over the holidays then you will loose those double points and you know the cops p'd off because he is working over a holiday period and his mates aren't.
So if youve got an area where the cops are harrassing speeders have a group of Lebs move in they will soon keep them occupied, before you think Im total racist I am the token aussie in little lebanon called Bankstown but I have to admit they dont make bad neighbours well the christian ones anyway they are really nice, I know this will tick of the US residents but I remeber when the towers went down some of the islamic kids were out in the street cheering that was the one time I really wanted to run them down
