Downtown I park where I can, pay only if it is on a street. I take the whole space, I'm paying for it. I have never been charged at a garage, the attendents always wave me on. At some of the casinos around here you can even park at the front door for a tip to the valet, that's if you want to make an enterance. 8)

On a moderately parking-related note.

I geared up this morning and walked outside...damn it was cold.  Sure, it's supposed to warm up today (and it has), but the thought of freezing my knuckles off in the morning, then parking the bike through the warm part of the day only to ride home after it gets dark and potentially cold again wasn't appealing, so I decided that taking the car and getting a hot cup of coffee was a bit more attractive.  I ended up getting delayed for a while and got in to work late.

Now, it's imperative to get in early because at the office I'm working at they don't have enough parking for all the people that work here and there's no other nearby parking that can serve as overflow, so if you can't find a spot you need to invent one.  I've gotten grief for doing this before, but this morning all of the not-permitted-but-possible spots were already taken.  I did ultimately find a place to put my car, but had to make sure I moved it as soon as people started heading out to lunch lest I get a nastygram from the parking gestapo.

The point is...as I'm walking from my car I gazed longingly at all of the places I could easily have put the GS and kicked myself for taking the car.  I wasn't the only one that wimped out this morning, there was only one bike in the lot this morning...parked at the side of the lot closest to the door (with space for 2 or 3 more bikes right next to it.).  Grrrrr.
