aaronstj,
good luck witht he new bike. Sounds like you are getting it from a reliable person, and I'm sure Roadstergal will do a bang up job on getting it road worthy. If I were you I wouldn't want to wait for a new paint because I'd be dieing to ride it. However, wait until you have all proper gear and it isn't freezing/wet outside. I'd probablly jump right on it and start riding as soon as I could get my hands on it, however, I'd be a shame if you crashed your new bike the first day you got it because you were trying to ride it in crappy conditions.

But we'd all get one heck of a laugh out of it (provided he wasn't injured, of course)  :P

Thank.  I lucked out getting dibs on RG's bike.  They're pretty rare here in Seattle for some reason, and so just get any GS is pretty awesome.  And I'm confident she'll have it in proper order.  And if not, I'll sic the forum on her.

I've been waiting for a long time, I can wait a little longer for paint.  Plus, when you add it into the other stuff, I doubt it really adds much time.  Plus, I love blue!

I'v got all my proper gear, except pants.  That was the only thing they didn't require for the MSF course, so I didn't buy them.  I need to get a good pair of overpants one of these days.

Hopefully the weather will clear for at least a couple days when I get her. :)

Srinath:  it was a 5 qt oil pan that I drained the oily-gas into and it whouldn't hold another drop.  i just couldn't see anything higher on the dip stick from it being so thin and the oil being relativly new.

Well I guess if you got the bottom ends of the rods hitting it ... it is going to fly around like a Cat 5 inside your motor and I guess come flying out the vent ... whoever ran the bike with gasoline in place of oil ... so No clue ... just a hypothesis ...    Now the inside of the motor is really clean ...    ...
Cool.
Srinath.
