There are instances of these going over 100K, in fact there is a couple with several hundred ... having said that ... the damn thing will cost a fortune to rebuild ... BTW its got ball bearing crank and cam shafts ... pretty much never wear out ...
Cool.

Quote from: seshadri_srinathThe 1100 will pretty much blow away the GS in rool ons etc ... in short ... if it will run in a gear it will accelerate hard enough to pull your arms out of their sockets ...
Cool.

hmm, that's interesting. I raced my dads '04 Honda VTX1800R the other day from a stop, 60 roll, 40 roll, etc. I beat him bad up to about 20 or 30 on the race from a stop, then he ripped past me and on the highway... well, his bike is just wicked, that's all there is to that. But he told me that his friend James' 1100 Virago did NOT keep up with him as well as my GS did.  :dunno:

Roll on = no shifting. Dead stop to 20-30 definetly involves a shift or 2 and even if it didn't the high redline and the fact that a GS will do 40+ in first makes it a no contest and as such its a drag race, not a roll on. In a 40 - 60 I belive they do that in 4th, and 60-80 in top. The bikes that do the 40-60 well are bikes that have 6 speed close ratio transmissions with a motor that makes mondo torque and moderately high rpm. Examples - 4 cyl cruisers with massive motors. My eli 9/10, the Vmax 1200 etc ... all have 10-11 K red lines, and make mountains of torque and have 6 speed transmissions ... 60-80 roll on's are typically dominated by 5 speed bikes with massive torquey motors and a lower redline - being 5 speed they are geared lower up top and their motors make bulk of their power in the 4-6K range. VTX and virago as well as the other large capacity cruisers. You let people shift ... nothing will keep up with a sport bike ... just rev to the 15K redline and shift ...
Cool.
