Still plenty 'o bugs down here in Oklahoma.  The temperature is still in the 80's during the day.

I'm curious....is the 1000-mile break-in (<8000rpm) as important as the 500-mile (6k) break-in?

Yes.

Makes me wonder why anyone would ride around without a full-face.

This year in NYC i've hit 3 pidgeons.  All with my helmet as they decided to fly right past my face....and occasionally don't make it.  Thank god not one has splattered as of yet..
