So I've been riding for since my gf bought me an 04 gs500f in July up until about a month ago when I got really sick. Now I try to start my bike up and it won't start. I here a cranking sounds like when my car was out of gas but I checkd the bike and it has gas. I've tried all 3 modes for the petcock  :x  any suggestions? Thanks in advance.

Measure the battery voltage it may be to low. Also check kill switch.

It wouldn't be the kill switch if it's cranking.

Definitely try the battery.  Hopefully that's all.

You haven't ridden it for a month? Your battery might have drained. Get a small portable jumpstart or a small car and jumpstart that sucker. Or if it is time for a new battery, buy another one because you might need it anyway.

Try what Jetswing said and put it in PRIme but you said you already tried that? Try again?  :dunno:

Will pop starting it work?
Richard died in a motorcycle accident that was at no fault of his own.  We lost a good friend and good member of this board.  Though Rich may be gone, his legacy will live on here.
