Ugh, I can't believe her... She knows how I jump on it every chance I get and yet... She wants to "move it" so as to "do me a favor." WTF? BIG RED FLAG #1. NOT LOGICAL. Next, she doesn't think it's very heavy. WTF? BIG RED ILLOGICAL FLAG #2. This is no bicycle we're talking about! Thing weighs almost 400lbs... Next, we're not exactly RICH so the damage done to it will have to go unrepaired for a while. MAJOR damage to the tranny, fairing decals, brake lever is BUSTED IN HALF, mirror and blinker all jacked up. Argh. And to top it all off... "YOU HAVE ABSOLUTELY NO RIGHT TO BE MAD AT ME. IT WAS JUST AN ACCIDENT." Yes dear, but you can't even hold up a Huffy (true fact), so what makes you think you can hold up a 400lb motorcycle? "I.. I DON'T KNOW BUT YOU SHOULDN'T BE MAD." No dear, I'm just mad that you forget to use your brain and refuse to think clearly sometimes and cost us lots of money that we don't have and break high priced toys. Argh...

Anyways, so now that I'm done ranting... Does anyone know where I can get any of those replacement parts cheap? I need a mirror, blinker, brake lever and the right side fairing decals. Replacing the tranny for cosmetic reasons is out of the picture. lol

Bummer 'bout the bike though. The tank didn't get dented? Man, you're lucky. I dropped mine and it got a little tank ping. Pissed me off because it was the first day I had it :(

That sucks. I found out how heavy it was the first night I rode it. I dropped it trying to do a walking turn around while on the bike. Only scratched my mirror though. Cause I can lift a Huffy.

Look at the bright side (or muse over a pleasant thought), at least it didn't fall on your wife and crush her.

That sucks man. But if you ask, everyone's got their story and it happens w/ bikes, my dad dropped mine. Esp the GS which a lot of people get as their 1st bike.
Don't give her too much greif, I don't think she meant to do any harm.

Yeah that sucks, dropped mine a total of twice.  Once parking on a side street, asphalt crumbled and bike fell to the right, as you sit on it resulting in a little scuff on the fairing.  Second time i was in a hurry hopped off and opps didn't put the kickstand down.  Caught it as it fell, realizing that it was heavy i layed her down very gently, then picked her back up resulting in no damage at all.

What favor was she doing by trying to move your bike?

I also like the "you have no right to be mad at me" response.  I get a laugh out of totally irrational defensive responses like that.  I KNOW I WAS WRONG BUT YOU CAN'T BE MAD AT ME DAMMIT!

Roadstergal

What did she drop it on to cause major damage to the tranny?  A running chainsaw?

Well, look on the bright side - you won't feel bad for causing the first damage to your bike.    :P   Maybe that was the favor...

um, what?? :x   yes, it was an accident BUT you still have every right to be angry.  i sure hope she reacts accordingly when you have an accident with somethng that means a lot to her.

luckily for me, i'm the one that has to be careful with my gs cuz of its weight -- its like a toy for my boyfriend.

Get drunk and pee all over the front seat of her car and say "it was an accident, I couln't hold it!"

Or better yet just puke up on the dash of her car and make sure some gets down into the defroster vents. :P

I have already told my wife about touching MY bike.  If she were to try and move my bike I guess I would try and move her curio cabinet while all the stuff was in it.   :dunno:

My Grandpa always said revenge is sweet. :thumb:

Other option is making her a sex slave for the next year, my wife would probably rather make the repairs though :(

I see alot of ppl here have never been married...

A better tack is to mope around deppressed about it. Let her own guilt and mind inflict its own "punishment".

And you didn't damage the transmission. Just scratched the right hand engine cover.  Not that expensive even if you wanted to replace it with new (sand, bondo, & paint works better).

hell, im married and my wife hass issues walking across the street on flat pavment.  dont know how someone can trip over nothing. ive put mine on a bike, had her walk it around abit just to get an idea of the weight and how to move it, even had her put around in the lower gears, but other then that she wont touch em as she is accident prone.  Stop loveing them? No, ANGRY WITH THEM YES!  kinda weird how they think they mean the same thing.

My wife has ran over so many things with her car you would not beleive it.  With her Civic she has had it around 18 months and she hit a couple curbs, backed into a bush, ran over a small parking curb and kept going, and the funniest is she was trying to paralell park and back into a boulder in front of the school where she works.  Boulder is approx 2.5 ft high and almost 4 ft long.  She said she did not see it :dunno:

That is the reason I am leary about letting her move my bike.

I ran my wife's GS over with HER civic one morning by accident.
She was very cool about it all things considered, which is why I suggested the earlier strategy...

This was -exactly- what I was thinking.

[marital_advice type="pithy" useless="true"]
I'd let it go.  Try, "I'm not mad at you, I'm upset about the situation."  I'd also recommend trying to make that a true statement...and try to not follow it with a sentence that starts with, "But..."
[/marital_advice]

Honestly, if my wife did that I'm sure she'd feel bad enough about it without me having to twist the knife.  Although...perhaps I'm just a sucker.

Blueknyt

twist the knife?  dont know about most of you but i get my bikes and cars cheap as they need work.  while some more then others, its alot of blood sweat and tears that go into getting and keeping US BOTH going.  my GS500 came in a box as a former track bike.  starting with bare frame i had to assembled mine from nuts and bolts.  when anything happens to a vehicle we own, its generaly a hardship on the household, when something happens for a stupid reasons, her fault or mine, I get bent.  granted im harder on myself then her but arrgg.

This is kinda crude, but next time your in bed with her (not sleeping ;), give her the the shocker and tell her she has no right to be mad at you because it was an accident  :thumb:
