I think that what we have here is as much--if not more--about levels of maturity, rather than male/female issues.

I try to be VERY careful not to spew hateful things if my bf and I have a tiff. He does the same; in fact, I can't remember a hateful, mean thing he's ever said (other than he thinks I like curbs a lot and can't drive  :guns:   ).

Maybe we're just too old to be bothered with fighting dirty.  :dunno:  :nana:

Higher blood pressure thats all.

One day you will have serious psychological issues if you keep suppressing your anger. :/ Anger levels are something you're born with or raised with. But, some level of thinking goes into being mad as well. Such as making sure the offending party is more careful next time! Although, name calling and belittling is unnecessary and does nothing but turn you into an @$$hole so don't get the two mixed up. :P

Can I be your brother?  I'll make sure I'm more careful with the BMW

Sweet, something to wrench on!   :thumb: I think it's cooler to roll up in an old BMW than be one of the mindless wannabes with a new one  :)

Same engine as my old 325e... great engine, runs forever (300K+), very fuel-efficient if it's in reasonable tune, torquey.

BMW had a couple of funky-ass badgings in their otherwise very rational naming scheme.  The 528e and 325e had the same 2.7L engine; the 323i and Z3 2.3i had 2.5Ls.  Probably to differentiate them from the 328i and Z3 2.8i; easier to sell a 500cc difference than a 300cc.

He drove that car like 4 miles that day and it decided to burst into flames, i bought him all the parts he needed for his birthday last month....

I jokingly (It'd be funny as hell though :D ) said to give her the shocker and tell her she can't be mad at that :) I'm not one to argue for the sake of arguing, being made because life's too short to hold a grudge over something that was an accident and just try to be honest with whatever girl I am with and try to talk out any problems we have like adults.

If I am angry I will get in my car and take a ride depending on my anger level. Sometimes pissed off people shouldn't get behind the wheel of a 2000+ lb bullet :D

And Angry MPA is an overly aggressive driving MPA :)

If I wanted to deal with BS HS crap in a relationship I would still date HS girls :D

Maybe there's hope for us yet Phire...I'm only about a third into my lifetime (with a little luck!).

Onlypastrana...I fear a mind clearing ride would be classified under abandonment by the non-riding wife! I've been trying for five years to get her on a bike...she says they're too dangerous. And her medical examiner father's morgue stories don't help my case!

Sounds like a little somethin' folks around here call "carma"

(For the grammar geeks, I meant to spell it wrong. It's supposed to be funny...maybe I ought to stick to wrenchin'!)

I'm fairly certain that the 323 badge was simply to not piss off the previous year's 325 owners.  One year the 325 is the "big" engine...the next year it's the small one.  I think they gave the previous 325 owners a bit of a grace period to make sure it was perfectly clear that they bought the expensive one.

'Course, now Bangle is moving further away from the "eine wurst, drei grosse" approach the naming scheme is likely to lean even more toward the marketing edge, lose it's logical relevance, and basically piss me off.  Is it just me, or do the new BMW's just look clumsy?

ive found in my years, there are 2 things you can tell another Both of which hurt. a Lie or the truth.   sometimes Nothing is the best.   yeah, ill agree, diff levels of maturity, but i belive its as much as a male/female thing and how they interprate things on the fly. its been said many times over, as a general rule guys look at things differntly then gals do. i do understand though pandy, and yes age also has to do with it.   Fatigue from many years fighting and sweating the small stuff thats in the bigger picture.  there are things that i let slide now that i would have fought about in a heartbeat when younger.  there are things now that i wouldnt have raised an eyebrow when younger but will stomp and thrash about now.  specialy stupidity.

here is a prime one.  every vehicle we get, i make sure to check it out,and show here how and where to check oil, water, trany fluid, show she can check it every fillup. this is also to let me know that oil is down or water or what ever is down alot and should check out why.  sounds reasonable to me.  IF something is low or needs another opinion, ask me then, dont kill the car.  driving around with the oil light coming on during every turn is NOT doing that.  she has Blown headgaskets in 3 engines, siezed 1 and tossed a rod in another.  there is no reason for this, and its stupid.  but she will complain that i wont let her drive my truck/s.   i got hit with something and a cold shoulder for 3 days when i asked "Why, so she can blow up my truck too"?

in the case of Octane that would have been a HUGE one.  no worse then painting up a room and getting it all furnished for your kid to find marker drawing on the walls or busted furniture from them jumping on it. she gets plenty mad over that. its things that take time, money and energy and everyone hates any of those things wasted.  let alone for reasons that were attempted to be avoided and safeguarded against.  would it have been a realationship stoper? nah, all that ive been through, there isnt but 2 things left to be done to me to make me walk away from it, and death is one. but dont ever tell me how i should feel or that im not allowed to feel this/thatway.  i would much rather get it out of my system and forgive later then to choke it back and have it rot.  often thesooner you let it out the sooner you can move on.

we had one of those Vehicle issues last week that still has thunder reverberating.

Yeah, I'm working hard on trying to not sweat the small stuff. Case in point, probably my biggest pet peeve EVER is wastefulness. I grew up without a lot and my mother beat it through my skull that when you leave a room you turn out the light, if you're cold you put on socks and a sweatshirt, and if there is food left over you put it in the fridge and eat it tomorrow.

My wife and stepson will leave the house for the day with the A/C blowing full bore and every (literally) light in the house on. My power bill more than doubled when they moved in. Now that we've been married a year that stuff has gotten better - both through me being able to show my wife the power bill last year to this year and show her the money we're wasting so she'll be more conservative, and through me trying not to blow a gasket when they forget and I come home to the power of the sun in my living room (my wife LOVES lamps, so in addition to the overhead lights, there are a bunch of lamps burning bright too). And this is one of those man/woman differences. When I asked her why she insisted on keeping the damn lamps on all day she says, "Because they're pretty!". Now call me a man, but how pretty are the lamps when there is noone home to enjoy them?! Just seems illogical to me.

Another good example, I came home from work yesterday and it's FREEZING in the house. Not because it's cold out or because the windows were open, but because the A/C is set to 64 degrees. To make it extra annoying, the central heat is kicking on to combat the A/C window units. These are the things that make me crazy. Unfortunately this one led to a spirited argument. We were probably both a little cranky to begin with and when I asked her why the A/C was blowing in November she blew up at me. Such is life I guess, but these things pass!

And blueknyt - I think our wives attended the same school of car care! I take it upon myself to do the necessary services to her Volvo because her last car suffered a painful death of neglect.

It looks like they're keeping the same naming scheme.   :dunno:   It seems to be very polarized between current BMW owners, though - 50/50 hate the new designs/love the new designs.  I think they're sharp; love the Z4.

Don't forget that the E46 and Z8 were also Banglemobiles.  The interiors of the Z4 and the Z8 are eerily similar, aside from the gauge cluseter placement. I did a side-by-side shot for the Z4 review.

Forgive my bimmer ignorance...what's Banglemobile?!

The super-uglified current generation of BMW's, especially the Z4 and the 7 series.  The Z4 can get away with it, since the roadster didn't look like a typical BMW when it was a Z3.

The E36 didn't look like a typical BMW.  I can fall asleep looking at one. IMO, they only look good in race trim.
