I've been through the whole, break your key in the lock deal. (in the seat lock) and I only had one key. I needed my bike for the next day so I hotwired the bike with an aircraft switch that was laying around. the only problem is that I didn;t have a running light in the back when I did this. but everything ealse woked including the brake light. flick the switch on and you had power, turn it off and evertihng goes off. I made sure to use my disc lock when I parked that day though. and I did manage to find a guy who was skilled enough to cut me a new key from the broken one. all is good now, and I even leave my home made hotwire switch in my jacket pocket incase I lose my key one day. its no good to anyone ealse because they wouldn't know what to do with it, but its there if I need it.

Good call guys. I found a place near me that only does keys and engravings.  Sure enough they gave me two copies of my keys (full metal) that work great.

Funny thing is home depot charged 99 cents for each key.
This place charge $5 for each key.   Oh well, I am over it.  $10 for not having to worry about losing my keys.
