I decided to service the swing arm/shock bearings as recommended in the manuals, but @#$%^&*((.

The bolt that connects the link rods to the linkage for the shock just won't come loose! I tried a 1/2 inch breaker bar & socket, also a box wrench, with some spray super-lube but it just won't budge. Makes me think maybe there's no point in doing this. I even tried an impact wrench but the extension I had to use to reach the nut probably soaked up most of the torque. What the hell does it take to get that mofo off????

Stupid question #1 - Are you turning it the right way?

Stupid question #2 - Are you trying to turn the nut or the bolt?

If you're turning it the right way, and your trying to loosen the nut, you're doing fine.  Apply more torque.

Try to tighten the nut a little.  Suprisingly, it can be easier to break a nut by tightening it a tad than busting ass trying to loosen it.  Don't bother holding onto the bolt either at this point.  Get a 6 pt. socket, an extension long enough to get you in the clear, and a breaker bar.  Lay into it with everything you have.

It's always preferrable to PULL on a breaker bar.  If (WHEN) something lets go, you won't smash your knuckles, fall over, etc.  Have someone hold the bike.  Put your right hand on the end of the breaker bar and your left hand on the extension to keep it straight.  Use your feet, pull hard.   :)
Every zero you add to the tolerance adds a zero to the price.

If the product "fails" will the product liability insurance pay for the "failure" until it turns 18?
