Quote from: seshadri_srinathAfter you pass next time empty a box of thumb tacks ... I used to carry a little box full just for such occassions ... Use a plastic container and the tacks inside will stick to a magnet on your tank. The trick is to be able to remove it (easy) open it (sorta difficult) and let it spill right under Jackass's left wheel tracks ... utterly easy and super rewarding ... also very nice is ... when you're at a light with Jackass behind you ... very very visible to him ... spill it all over the road right before you take off when the light goes green. He will sit there and get honked at ... while you disappear down the road ...
Cool.

Thats a joke right?  If not thats about the most jackass thing I've ever heard.  Nevermind compromising the safty of every car behind him on the road.

Oh yea Its a freaking disaster all right ... you can take a tack in you car tire and be fine ... Tacks wont penetrate the whole tread anyway ... but the bguy will see it and panic and heck will definitely have to stop somewhere and check ... and pull it out, and 2-3 cars later they will blow off ... It wont affect much but will make him think and scare him ... and he's not going to really know what it was that you sprinkled ... so anyway its adios for him ... Please I didn't invent this trick, and its not a new trick either ... I used it from 95 or so to 98 or so ... and it was told to me by some one else even at that time. Old idea, well used and tested ...
Cool.

Srinath / Crim - When I was about 11-12, some friends and I thought it would be funny to install nails in the driveway (dirt) of some grumpy guy that was always yelling at us. We thought he would ride over the nails and it would pop his tires..    All it did was push the nails into the ground, didn't even puncture the tire.

My own bad judgement on the road usually invovles the car...I am usually pretty careful, safe, and level headed on the bike. We all make mistakes though. And thats ok, as long as we learn from them.
Richard died in a motorcycle accident that was at no fault of his own.  We lost a good friend and good member of this board.  Though Rich may be gone, his legacy will live on here.

Sad thing is that it seems the NYC area is the most civilized.
Went to work to Manhattan today and the cagers were courteous and even moved out of my way when I split the lanes.
Was able to find a parking space on my usual street.
Now looking forward to a civilized commute home to NJ.
That probably won't happen.  There are these wild and unpredictable
creatures in these monstrous vehicles with these little things stuck to
their ears.  I figure they must be crazy, since they are always talking
but there is no one else in the car.

I drove back down the same highway last night (was in a car this time) and took a look at the average distances between cars next to each other in adjacent lanes.   I think that the clearance was probably closer to 4ft than 3ft because I definitely had a bit of wiggle-room.

I'm not very reckless or hotheaded, so I probably wouldnt' have tried the maneuver if there wasn't enough space for a bit of error, or if the cars were all over their lanes.

As for the ball bearings...  I hope I never get upset enough to road rage like that.   I usually opt for the 'Leave'em in the dust and devil-take-them' route.  Life is too short to let such liliputian-esque small folk from bogging you down... that and also road raging on a bike is akin to running your mouth off in prison.  Sooner or later, someone you tick off is going to make you their <censored>!
