Are you *sure* that's the ONLY reason?  :P

  Give him hell, Pandy.

Mr. 7 brought up an interesting point about insurance. Do you have to have special insurance for track racing or how does that work?  :dunno:
Richard died in a motorcycle accident that was at no fault of his own.  We lost a good friend and good member of this board.  Though Rich may be gone, his legacy will live on here.

you crash, you pay. someone crash you, you pay. so it's not good to ride bike (at the track) that you owe money on.

also it's not a good idea to ride your bike to the track. if you even sprain your ankle, or even worse, if your bike breaks down, you won't have a way to get home.

If anything happens to you or your bike, you pay.

A member on the FZ1 board was riding her SV650 at the track. She was riding in the intermediate group, no passing in turns, only in straightaways with at least a 6' clearance. Anyways, this INSTRUCTOR was riding like a mad man through these new track riders and got black flagged (told him to get off the track) and before he made it around to leave the course he lowsided. That doesn't sound all that bad, but the bad news was that he was passing the FZ1 member on the inside of a turn when it happened. He lowslided, and his rear wheel washed out her front and she went down. Hard. She suffered a broken collar bone, broken ankle, concussion, and some bruising all over. Her bike is a complete mess, possibly totaled. She's got hospital bills to pay, a bike to fix, new gear to buy, and she can't do a damn thing about it. She can't sue them or make a claim on her insurance because she was on the track.

You have got to weigh the options.

she could possibly sue the instructor for negligence.

Nope, when you go to the track you sign a waiver that says you can't hold anyone responsible for any damage or loss to you, no matter how bizarre.

true enough you get hurt at the track it's all on you. You sign a waiver saying that you will not hold the track nor any of club personal responsable.

Lucky for me my insurance covers me all the time. 8)

There were several lowsides at the track while I was there. I even got to watch one up close a personal. No one was hurt enough for a trip to the hospital. Just one bike lost it life to a barricade.

even if you signed a waiver, if the memeber of the event organizers knowingly and willingly put riders in danger (not accident), you could have a case.
