Millville OKs $100 million motorsports park

MILLVILLE, N.J. -- A plan to build a $100 million motor sports park in this Cumberland County community got the green light from city planners, a major step for a proposal feared by some for the noise it will generate but cheered by others for the jobs it will create.

Construction is expected to begin in March on the park, which will feature a 4.1-mile racetrack, restaurants, a driving school, a classic car gallery and hotels on a 700-acre site near the Millville Airport. Once completed in spring 2007, the park will employ about 1,500 people in full- and part-time jobs.
