Storage building...ideal size?

I'm thinking about getting a storage shed next spring.  I'm wondering if anyone has any good advice on what the best size would be for storing a motorcycle...or two.  Sadly, I don't have a garage.

Of course, I'd also need take into account the space to house all of the other random crap like the lawnmower, random tools, that kind of thing that are currently taking up space in my basement and preventing me from getting it finished.

Hmm, I'm currently in a 8Lx6w shed with my toolbox, aircompressor, rags, fan, and carbstick stand (an old coatrack) and it's pretty cramped, but doable, considering I'm skinny and used to be on a submarine. The 8' length just fits the bike; I have to go out the door to get around to the other side of the bike. If you really want to store all that other stuff in there with ya I'd suggest a 10x10. I'm getting another shed to house all the other stuff.

I "built" (paint by numbers assembly) one shed 8x8 last spring.  I wish
I had gone with a 10 x 10 instead, as suggested above.  The 8x8 was
very buildable (easy to put together) and I figure that the 10x10 would have
been just a bit more effort.  But I love my shed, and try to spend as much
time as I can in it... I did some fancy shelving work to try to have as
much space (work area) as possible.  I even did the prepping/spray painting
of my 2001 GS in it

I was thinking 10x16, with a roll-up door on the side.  I need to stake out the area on my property to see how much space that would be (right...160 square feet...ha ha).  I need to do a ton of landscaping work next spring (that I've been putting off for years), so I figure I might have a shed put up while I'm at it.

Depends on what you're building it out of and how much the materials cost in your area...  If you can find a really good deal on an aluminum one, that might be the cheapest way to go.

I'm not building it.  I fully intend to have other people do that.  If I tried to build it, it would certainly cost about 5-10x more than I expected, since after I screwed it all up I'd have to call someone to tear it all down and build a rational one.   :lol:

The link in the original post is what I'm currently looking at...they have an estimator on the site, and the quoted prices include installation.  They have siding options that will match the color of my house.  I'm actually less concerned with the cost than I am with getting appropriate utility out of it.  I'm tentatively planning on doing other things of exorbitant cost around the same time...one of the justifications for the space is to get some crap out of my basement (like the lawnmower, snowblower, random tools, etc.) so I can get the basement finished.

Actually, my brother-in-law is a general contractor.  I could probably get him to help me build one for materials and a six pack (a couple cases and some burgers if he brings his crew).    I'm trying not to abuse that, since I'm probably going to bug him when I need to rebuild my deck.
