Stabil question...

I'm sure it's a well known common fact that a fuel stabilizer is required for long-term winter storage... My question is do any of you follow the mixing procedures on the back of the bottle or do you all just dump in the whole bottle into your gas tank like I commonly hear? And would there be any consequence to dumping the whole bottle in?

Have you any personal experience with that?  After reading countless winterizing posts I had the idea that everyone just dumped in the entire bottle so then I go to read the directions like a good little boy and it says 2mL will stabilize 1 gallon or something to that effect so I thought it'd be best to get some opinions. :]

the stabil lowers the octane a bit, and keeps the fuel from cruding up. So im guessing to much will help the storage... but that doesnt mean you can run the bike on stabil. If it helped how the bike ran, wed all probably be putting it in every tank fill.

I put in the recommended amount.

just eyeball it, but not the whole bottle.    thats like filling up the crankcase full of oil.    who said that.

If I recall, one bottle will treat 20 gallons. Each fall I put half a bottle in my 12-gallon jet-ski tank, then fill the tank and start the engine to let the Stabil circulate a little. Each spring, the engine starts and runs perfectly the first try. In seven years, I've never touched the carbs.
