I've got a very very small hole developing on my glove in the top-left of my right pointer finger. Does anyone know anything about leather repair and what I might be able to patch this hole before it becomes a serious problem?

If they are otherwise great and you realy want/need to keep them try a shoe repair place they could probably do the neatest job, maybe stitches?

Alternativley you could try patching it yourself, possibly from the inside if you can find a suitable patching material, cycloanachrylate, -  I hope i've spelt that right, -  SUPERGLUE in simple terms works well on leather, I have repaired leather with it.

He means cyanoacrylate... or CA to any woodturner/hobbyist.. home depot, lowes, etc should sell it.. never tried it on leather, but it sure glued my fingers together right quick.. not the normal way either, end to end, but sideways... I was stuck in the "Live Long and Prosper" hand gesture... had to stick a screwdriver in there and pry my fingers apart.. so if you use it.. don't get it on you..also, don't eat it (don't ask..)

Hang out there, we may flame, but we don't hate.

My attitude is in serious need of readjustment, and I'm ok with that.

Yes NGFL that's exectly what I mean. If your fingers are like mine they have a covering of something called skin, which is untanned leather and as you have discovered (me too) it does work.

oh yes, it works quite well... I can use it on pens/bowls/vases, etc that are on the lathe spinning at a good 2K+ rpms, and not have stuff fly off/fly apart... so it's good enough for me

So basically find a piece of leather and superglue it there, huh? How well will that hold up in a crash?

Well it aint going to be square yards of repair so I should think it would be as good or exceedingly close to the origional. They do say however that damaged safety kit should be replaced, your kit, your skin, your choice.

I usually replace my gloves when that happens. Just my opinion.

Yeah, I'd do that too. Except I'm a poor college student. I'd get some nice Olympia race gloves if I had the money, though. Mmmm, those things are so nice.

No wonder you have a hole in your gloves...  The atmospheric resistance tore them!

Alphamazing

Yeah yeah. I know. I shouldn't have been speeding. It was a load of crap anyways. I was driving back from Dallas after cornerworking at Motorsport Ranch for 10 hours. I had only got 4 hours of sleep because I slept in my car and had to be up at 6am. It was a crap ticket. I was going 84 in a 70, with NO ONE around me. Crap crap crap crap crap. He also tagged me for being in the wrong lane. I was in the left lane, which is 'for passing only'. I WAS passing people! They were just two miles ahead of me! It isn't like anyone was passing ME.

Stick to the rules of speeding man...  10 over on the Freeway (unless you're in the carpool lane, then 6 over), 5 over on local roads...  15 over on 3 lane inner-city roads.    And...  When in Rural Nevada...  As fast as you can afford, 'cause it doesn't count as a moving violation.   :thumb:

Never, never, never do double the limit or higher...

And when you get pulled over, be nice and don't lie...  Just fess up and take your medicine.  Sometimes they'll let you out of the ticket or reduce it.

Yeah, that's felony speeding, if I recall. My friend got tagged going 135 in a 65. The cop ticketed them for going 100 in a 65. Niiiice cop.

He probably didn't lie to the cop...

Usually when you're going that fast, they figure your on drugs and in a stolen vehicle.

I knew a guy that got tagged for 117 in a 60...  He was drunk (but blew under the limit :dunno: ) in a rental pickup truck...  He was a jerk to the cop and got the full ticket, towed, a trip to jail, a suspended license, a crap load of court...

What a mess.
