the ma didn't take it well when she found out I'd bought a bike... she didn't quite have a heart attack, but it was in the realm of possibility.  Now, I know bikers get all the chicks.  But does it alienate your loved ones?  How are those bike stereotypes these days?

Still, how are the stereotypes these days?  I thought it was funny when I asked for directions at the W hotel when wearing a motorcycle jacket... the bellhop totally looked me up and down, decided I was a deviant or something, and just pointed down the street.    

Guess I'm just wondering what people think about bikers in general... what goes on in the Mom's head when she finds out her kid is a deviant Marlon Brando wannabe or whatever.

Perceptions are strange sometimes.  At my old job (a banking related computer Co.) I used to get funny looks coming in with my old "biker" jacket.
Bought a Joe Rocket Ballistic jacket and no one really even notices since it just looks like a regular ski jacket to them (unless its summer, then the helmet usually explains things).
