Electroluminescent cable on a bike?

Anyone have any experience with electroluminescent cable?
I'm trying to think of a way of lighting up my bike without looking too tacky.
I'd like to mount some light strips or cables to accent some of the frame lines of the bike. Maybe illuminate the engine and tailpipe.
I think it could work with the thick, chrome frame on a GS.

I'm affraid it might come out looking like a lighcycle from TRON, though. I dont know if that's good or bad...

Anyway, any suggestions?

Btw, here's a FAQ about EL cables:

oh man, those sample pictures are terrible.
I'm really hoping I can make it look better than that.

they make neon wire that could be used.  I used some to outline the dash of a car, looked pretty good, an unlike neon bulbs, the wire don't break.

That's cool.  If you can do it so it doesn't look tacky (like that bicycle) it would be cool.  Put some under the frame to illuminate the motor.

Make a riding suit to go along with it:

Make one with a cup, though.
