quiet burnout :(

So I decieded to try my first burn out on the GS tonite.  smelled nice, but no squeal?! what gives. probably the surface.  anyone else with the stock bridgestone tires get a good eeek?

i know i know its a waste of tread, but ya gotta do it at least once.

its not the squeel that attracts the 5-0, its the unbeleivable amount of noise the motor makes screaming at 10000 rpm (if you like to do them that high) I always do them when my tires are getting to the end of there life and its time to replace them.

Even going slow in the ranger (5mph) If Ii go till I must turn and then crank it, it will squeal like uh,... james bond 007 movies! yeah! Real Loud that is.

Oh, and crappy garages don't count. They need to be nice and smooth. When I worked in a Sears automotive place (part time temp job, gimme a break) we would end up squealing all over the place, not even moving 3 feet.


So, the point is, the ground must be smooth, or atleast you need good contact. A rough road or one with stuff on it probably wont work. Also, going the wrong way on your tread (sideways) helps I think. [/opinion]

I did my first burn-out a little while ago, just made a scuffing noise and a piddly little bit of smoke... I did it wrong neways, I throttled up with clutch out instead of dropping the clutch. Or I've been told I did it wrong...

Now that I think about it, bikes are lucky in this reguard. They come standard with front/rear brakes. In a car, you have to mod it to hold the front still. Then you can have some fun.  

If you let it burn longer it will smoke more, I promise. Also I have heard that bleach or something to smoke, will make lots of smoke. Just burn it off before riding. We were talking about burning out, and not just leaving trails, right? I love it when people are like, Dude, Look at this sweet burn out! What it turns out to be is a weak slipping of the tires as they leave. A real burn out should leave you in one place till your ready to leave. Though, with a weak engine and other things, some front brake is probably needed.


Hmm, I guess that bikes come stock better equiped to burn out, but cars have the big tires and lots of weight in the back to make it better.

I love doing burnouts in my car, fwds are a blast to do a good burnout.  When the smaoke starts rising up out of the fenders and around the hood.  Just do not have your vents open with the blower on.  I did it once and within 10 seconds the whole inside of the car was filled with smoke and I could not see the dash.  After a day or two and a little bit of Febreeze the smell went away.

When I get bored at the drag strip i'll get in the water box pull the E-brake and usually get into 2nd gear up to about 5500-6500 rpm and hold it there.  At that point you can not see the car After the tires get hot though it just drags the rear tires while they are locked up :mrgreen:

As far as the bike goes I have did a couple little burnouts with it.  Only time it made a squeal was in my fathers garage.

haha I havent tried a burn out and I dont think I will for a while.  I would rather just try a wheelie orr something.
