anyone ever experienced this type of handlebar setup?

They look pricey but cool.  As a new rider with the GS being my first bike, I've found i really like the look of clip-on like on the gsxr, but dont know if I will like the riding position.  Im really comfortable with the GS's position and am wondering how low can I go before my wrists hurt?

not a bad idea dude.  u could mount the things below the triple and since they rise up, it wouldnt be down to low  :thumb:

They are very nice, but very expensive for clipons. But they are probably the best bet for fitting "clipons" onto an "F".

Problem is that I don't see a listing for the GS or any other 37mm forked bike. They may not make a set that will fit.

The final measure of any rider's skill is the inverse ratio of his preferred Traveling Speed to the number of bad scars on his body. It is that simple: If you ride fast and crash, you are a bad rider. And if you are a bad rider, you should not ride motorcycles.

hmm.  Decent idea i guess.  I have clipons on my bike and i really don't find the position to be too low at all.  I like mine alot.

Yeah i saw there were no 37mm sizes available. They jump from 35mm to 41mm. I e-mailed them to ask if they have, or plan to have a 37mm set.  The universial kit (order by size) was like $300.  not cheap.

let me know what they say, im kind of interested..

Convertibars responded saying they would need at least 75 orders to create the 37mm size.  that kinda sucks.

my friend had one put on his r6...i was disappointed.

first, the range of motion that they advertise really doesn't work. you couldn't go really low because the vertical part of the bar would hit the fairing. also you couldn't go high because the bars would hit the windshield.

also you have to think about how much slack you need on the brake/clutch lines to be able have the full rangeof motion.

also, the grip position were very wide and out. you really don't get the original clipon feel even at the lowest position because the bars are so wide.

when i rode the r6 with the convertibar, it was very uncomfortable...

that's my personal experience with it.

they're really not a good idea on a bike like the F.  You'd have a better bet just geting a cheap set off ebay and leave the "adjustables" alone...they're never worth what you pay.

These are what I run on my ratbike (GSF forks...same as GS500), my ex500 and what I had on my FZ600.

Yeah, they seem kinda cheap. I'd trust a pair of Vortex clip ons a lot more. Or a good set of SM2 bars. :):):):)
