Another Paypal scam

I don't know how long it's been circulating, but I recieved a bogus Paypal E-mail reciept just now. Looks pretty convincing, but it's nothing I bought. Offers functional links to verify your address and also has a link to dispute the transaction. Either one will have you log into a bogus Paypal site to access your personal info. If you get this e-mail or any other suspicious e-mails from Paypal, forward the e-mail to spoof@paypal.com for verification. To check your account, open a new browser window and log in as you normally would. Never log in through an e-mail link

I was a victim of an online scam similar to this, and it sucked. It drained by bank account and I had all sorts of bounced checks and everything. My debit card got "hot carded" and I had a hell of a mess for a while. Under NYS Law, I got it all recovered but was still responsible for $50. I lost $50, but it could have been worse had the bank not been on top of things - they caught it before I did!

I've never heard of it before. Mine was similar, but not the same. And even if it is "old", many of the scams that people fall for are "old". Good post.

ive got those damned things may times, you can also forward to ebay, cause pay-pal is part of ebay also, hell ive got ones from banks that ive never been part of, and lots of those nigerian scams :x    :dunno:

its real old news bro...for like the past 3 years i've been getting these emails.



i fell for it once..but realized like one sec after and quickly changed my password.

i have fun with these people, hell on the nigerian scam ones, i ask them to tell me what my name is and where i live, i know im easily amused
