Stop making up bikes, RG, it's a Testastretta.  And are you ever not in a dealership? :)

For what it's worth, one of my coworkers has a Monsters S2R and loves it.  He hasn't had a problem with reliability yet, but the maintainence is expensive, as are parts.  When he broke the bolt that held on the centerstand (his fault, he was futzing), it set him back $100 ($70 for the bolt, $30 for the nut).

It is a truly sexxy bike, though.  They're some of the best looking naked bikes out there.  I wish I could afford one.

Expensive parts is one of my main concerns for the Ducati. I'd probably end up getting the SS800 or the S2R because they use the same simple air-cooled two-valve-per-cylinger engine. I could do the valve adjustments myself on that fairly easily. It's just parts cost sooo much and I doubt I could get one for around $4000. The SS800 I like is the most recent model, which came out in 2002 IIRC. The monster S2R is so new that I doubt it could be had for less than $6000 in good condition.

I have also decided that an SV1000S is in my near future.   I've been trying to decide on a new bike (faired sportbike) with enough umph to pass cars with ease on the highway and also something thats less expensive to insure.

My roommates haven't been any help though..

"What, you want another twin??"
"Get an R6, thats gonna be my next bike"

This is our garage.  My sweet GS and three I4's.

I'd really prefer a twin over an I4, but I think I could live with one. Faired isn't an issue with me. On the contrary, with only a few exceptions I prefer naked/semi-naked to faired.

And honestly, if I had the money I'd be all over the Daytona 675.

Don't I get a 2am exemption?   :P

I was getting my back protector back from warranty repair - Ducati Seattle is also the local Dainese dealer.  They were having a Customer Appreciation Day, so I browsed the bikes while I ate free food.  :)

Maybe I'll just mod the GS to all holy hell for the next couple of years.
