I had already bought my bike last Wednesday, but the weather here hasn't been too friendly until yesterday.  So she basically sat alone for a week, but I got her home.

First things first, the seat is being taken in to get shaved down.  Hopefully, it doesn't rain around here so that I can get some riding in.  I'll post when I do.

Here's some pictures:

My hunch was right...Pandy is the biggest Post Whore!

Yeah, me too!  I was supposed to get the black '05 however they didn't have it on the floor, just blue  So, the sales rep says "I think I have a black in the warehouse.  Let me call them."

He comes back in 5 or so minutes and says, "Yep, I got a black one.  It's an '06 though."

Signed the papers that same night.

Wow.. I really like the black/silver.. I was gonna do a black/red '04, but that black/silver is my new favorite. Of course, I won't be buying a bike until at least this summer, which kinda sucks..

Hang out there, we may flame, but we don't hate.

My attitude is in serious need of readjustment, and I'm ok with that.

I don't usually care for the all-dark colour schemes, but I really like this one!

Congrats!!!

I get blamed for EVERYTHING around here!
:woohoo:

I believe you are our first '06er. Congrats! I really like the '06 blue (haven't seen the black/silver yet). Any macro shots of the paint in good light? I'm a fan of really nice metal flake paint jobs, and the '06 blue wasn't bad at all.

The motorcycle is no longer the hobby, the skill has become the hobby.

Power does not compare to skill.  What good is power without the skill to use it?

Enjoy the break-in period!
On those days when life is a little too much and nothing seems to be going right, I pause for a moment to ponder the wise last words of my grandfather:  "I wonder where the mother bear is?"

love the bike. The rain here sucks, but we need it really bad. I got caught in it yesterday. Question about lowering the seat. If you shave the seat foam, is there something else you use to replace the lost padding? Has the seat style/type changed in the past 5-6 years? After a tankful, my axx is sore. If I shaved the seat, I might really be an iron butt.

I like it also. It didn't look to good on the suzuki website, but in real life, bam, very nice!

Too be honest and maybe it's just my picky opinion, but the paint job and decals look sub-par.  Once the sun comes out in my area, I'll take a close up of the paint.  The weather has been shite for the past week or so.

No, the padding doesn't get replaced.  You basically have to sacrifice "comfort" for seat height.  You can replace the material altogether and get a gel seat.  If you do it correctly, you can actually have a thinner seat and have it more comfortable.

Maybe it's just me.. but I think that bike is screaming "FENDERECTOMY! FENDERECTOMY!"    :thumb:

Screw the break-in period.  Ride her now like you always will.

+1 for the fender cut.  That thing is HUGE!

Nice ride!

First Ride Impressions:

Can't say much because I only took around my apartment complex twice.  But, I did notice that it takes a lot more throttle to smooth out than I expected.  I stalled many a times.  Even the 250 Nighthawk in the MSF BRC course seemed to require less throttle.
I can understand where the "flickable" description comes from.  It takes an insanely little amount of effort to toss this bike around.  Can't wait to take on the town (in a few weeks)!
That's really all the opinions I can formulate right now.  Maybe tomorrow, I'll be able to go past 20mph.

RedShift

I remember back to my MSF RiderCourse.  Hitting 25 mph felt like I was flying.  Taking it out in the neighbourhood and in city streets was scary at first.  Hitting highway speeds -- Whoa Nellie.  :)

But take your time to get to know each other.  The fun builds little by little and doesn't quit so long as you continuously pay attention to what you're doing.

Ride on, safely.

I remember those feelings...  I was sooooo proud of myself for actually getting to third gear on the MSF bike.  The first day I got my bike home, I rode around my block about ten times before I got the courage to venture out onto the cruel blacktop occupied by large blind metallic objects just ready to mow you down.
