T'was five days before Christmas (and Hanukah),
And all through the online message boards,
Fellow riders have been posting,
About their GS500 parts hoards,

But here in Pennsylvania,
On a day when its freezing,
All I could think of as I pulled my jacket, helmet and gloves on,
Was how much my November appendix surgery after-effects were easing,

It was just six weeks ago,
On Nov. 5 that I last was able to ride,
Because the next day I woke up with a horrible pain in my side,

To the hospital I went,
For an emergency appendectomy,
And doctor's orders not to ride until at least late Decembee (hey, it had to rhyme),

So today as the wind chill rose here all the way to 23 degrees F,
I unlocked the snow-covered shed and made my way out,
I laughed under my Arai helmet as I turned the key and hit the starter button,
Then the sound of the lovely engine roar wiped away my 6-week-long pout,

To the side streets I headed,
My fingers tingling almost at once,
But what did I care,
I was having such fun-ce!

It was a glorious short ride,
Just enough to recharge me,
As the sun started to set,
I headed back to park thee (GS500)

And to all of my friends here on the boards,
Apologies for my bad rhymes,
But I just had to share,
The return of my incredible, amazing, happy GS500E times.

Merry Christmas to all!
Happy Hanukah!
Happy Kwanzaa!
Happy New Year!
Best wishes!

Merry Christmas!   to good creative thought.
The motorcycle is no longer the hobby, the skill has become the hobby.

Power does not compare to skill.  What good is power without the skill to use it?
