If like mine your bike lives out of doors this will be more useful but it's handy in any climate, any conditions.

This morning 27/12 having not used the bike since Christmas eve,   I decide to go out into the snow and knock the ice off the bike to see if she will start. Well she gives it a good go but I decide that i will bring the battery inside to both charge and warm up.

Ever tried lifting out the battery when it is wet and slippery and your hands are freezing, there is so little room to get a decent finger grip on it.

To avoid all that put a piece of parcel banding around it or even a piece of string, I use cable-tie from a dispenser tool and this makes getting the battery our so simple. You can then lift it out centraly with a finger, a lot better than all those pinched finger ends and knuckles. :thumb: perhaps even the dreaded broken nails for our female riders.

In Cricket the testicular guard, or Box, was introduced in 1874. The helmet was introduced in 1974. Is there a message??

Nice tip Cal.  It's a useful tip for any time of the year.

Also worth mentioning for the first-timers out there -- be sure to remove the black vent tube BEFORE lifting the battery out.  Even with a good grip, it can be the reason it doesn't want to budge.  (It's inconspicuous on the right side of the battery, tucked in the dark recesses of the frame.)

That's just because your bike is nekkid to the max dude!  :o

With apologies to our UK friend, "nekkid" is Southern for naked.

Yes, there we go again with the language.
