Grabbed it from jardisan this morning.  Great job on the video and thanks to the maker and those that have been trying to get this hosted for d/l.

Got a copy from Jardisan's link.  Thanks a million.  The guy I bought my GS from had a copy on CD-R that he gave me with the bike, but the file was damaged or the disk was scratched.

I've put up a copy on my server here.  Hopefully, it'll take some load off Jardisan.  Just do a Right-Click/Save.

Thanks for the additional link, it always helps to have more sites! I recompressed the video down to 180Mb (down from 550 Mb, its a little grainy at full screen resolutions, but looks good at like a 640x480 resolution. Is anyone interested enough for me to upload this?

I think this video is great. Lots of good general mechanical tips based on experience.

Thanks!

We should do more videos for things, it sure beats reading about it on the forum.

Downloaded the video (and subsequently burnt it to CD). Watched it last night and I have to say, I was expecting alot more swearing from a DIY video lol. The video was very thorough and I have to say, the process doesn't look too difficult after seeing it perfomed in the video, I reckon even my numpty mechanic skills would see me through it.

Thank you Mr Kerry  :thumb:

Finally after 39hours and 44 minutes I have the video!
Haha, only took me 3-3.5 hours

I just saw this thread.   I'll download the video, convert it (WMV can be tricky, but my connverter program *should* be able to handle it)  and then I will AUTHOR DVDs with this video on there.  (I have a DVD burner and some GREAT authoring software).

If all goes well, I will probably charge between ~1.50 $2.00 per disc, plus shipping (which is usually ~$1).   This depends on what slimline cases will cost me

The price breakdown is $0.45 per DVD-R plus ~$0.45 per slimline case with the balance ($0.60-$1.10) being for my time (mailing, buying stamps, burning each DVD) and wear-and-tear on my DVD burner.   I hope it doesn't seem like i'm trying to make money here because there are a lot of other things I could be doing with my dvd burner that pays a lot more for a LOT less in material costs (like making cheerleading mix CD's, which pays $300-$400 a pop).

Kerry: If you would like a royalty for your work then send me a PM.

I'll post when the DVD's are available.  Depends on when I get the video and if I can get a spare weekend to work on it

I downloaded the video last Friday, it's great.  I ordered the tools Monday and will be tackling it next week.  I big thanks to Kerry for making the video.  Very well done, and very informative.  It's loaded with real world problems that always seem to crop up when working on things.  :thumb:

Additionally a big thanks to Blueknyt for being persistant in getting the needed permissions to post the file.  :thumb:

Last thanks to jardisan, for hosting the file.  Very fast connection!  Great job!   :thumb:

Lastly, I have hosted the file on my website as well.  Please right-click save-target-as the following link:

How about we just pass on his works in a way that doesnt cost anymore wear and tear on things, it was stated in the email that i copied and pasted directly NO profit.   I recomended that folks who have a copy have others send them blanks (includeing me but no one has asked me yet) to be burned and sent back.   i dont mind droping a few bucks in postage to get a few videos out to others and they inturn do the same. folks would rather not pay anything for it, which i understand, i did try to host it but the equipment just wasnt setup for it, nor the bandwidth.  eveyone here has a computer that can read the video, if they want a DVD ver then get it from kerry himself at what ever HIS price is, or convert it themselves. Intruth, it should be converted to .avi or Mpeg if they cant play WMV.  NO reauthering should be done, the work is free to copy and distribute, not to change the content in any way.

While these prices are FAR from unreasonable i dont think it needs to go that far. i dont think kerry wanted anyone burning up that many miles on thier burners just to pass on his video.

PS.  TB, you dont burn music CD's from your DVD burner do you? think i would leave that wear and tear to a standard CDrw drive and leave the VIdeo stuff soley to the DVDburner.

I have a better (i think) solution to share this video on DVD.

'client' sends a blank DVD + return stamps to burner by mail (client pays postage)
burner sends client a burnt DVD (burner uses received stamps to mail back)

mmm, how much is sending a DVD by mail again  :icon_confused: (maybe it doesn't add up)
Caturday yet?

Blueknyt

well figure just about all the HOME used OS's have a player available that will play AVI or Mpeg formats
