What are my options for brighter headlights? Are there any reasonable HID solutions for the gs500e. Thanks.

There's one page of results if you search: brighter headlamps (or was that headlights).
The motorcycle is no longer the hobby, the skill has become the hobby.

Power does not compare to skill.  What good is power without the skill to use it?

sylvania silverstars. look for OUTPUT numbers higher than stock but the lamps themselves should draw stock wattage.

Another choice is the PIAA Star White H4 Bulb.  It puts out 3800K light, slightly under the 4000K of the Silverstars. A competitor.  Autobarn has them for under $30.

those PIAA superwhites are what I had in my car and my gs500, although I was running the 80/80W ones. they are pure white, no yellow, so they do look blue-ish, but not the blue HID-lookalike bulbs.

3800k is almost the same as stock.  It sounded like he wants brighter not just a different color.  But if he were to get a little bit higher temp bulbs they would be a little bit whiter therefore seeming brighter.    PIAA's are actually really great bulbs.
