Clutch sticks on startup

Ever since I performed an oil change (Accel 10W40, recommended by  seshadri_srinath), my clutch doesn't seem to fully disengage with a cold engine. When I start the bike, it lunges forward, even though I'm pulling the clutch lever all the way in.

The other day I noticed that I added a little too much oil, maybe an extra 1/4 quart, but I siphoned out a good deal of it with a tiny syringe and tube. Could too much oil cause this?

 Yea that happens to me sometimes too. I have the clutch pulled in and when I start her up she moves forward a bit. I dont know if its normal.

Check your clutch lever free play. There should be some slack when you first pull the lever then tension as you pull open the clutch. If too much free play you will not fully open the clutch.

If I start my bike with the clutch pulled in but in first gear, it will pull forward gently for just a second.  I have no idea if that's normal or not.

Why would free play only affect a cold engine?

I am just guessing but maybe it sticks because the oil is cold and so is thicker. So having loads of free play is not going to help. This is just a suggestion but makes sense to me.
