Ideas on how to install 05 gsxr1000 mirrors on 05gs?

Wow what a long title.  I tried the search but I couldn't find what I was looking for.  I know the 04 gsxr mirrors will fit.  .. direct bolt on.  But the 05 1K's mirrors are a bit different in how they attach to the cowling.  From what I can tell the two bolts on  the bottom of the mirror have to go through the cowling then a nut will secure it.  But the GS has a metal bracket that acts like a nut where the mirror attaches.  Any ideas on how I can get around this problem?  Besides not doing it.

I don't know, but how much did you get the mirrors for? When I checked they were 100+ a peice Cdn

dont have mirrors yet I have been looking at the parts finch to see how they attached.  The mirrors were on ebay for about $40 a piece to 120 a set.  You can get a new pair  from oneidasuzuki for a little less than $130.00 new.  Now sure what the exchange rate is.

...somebody tried to do this on an SV....it was a no-go (at that station)....the SV and GS5f use the same mirror styles...the GS5f just has a longer stem....

I remember seeing somewhere someone used mirrors off a Triumph Daytona <something> (either a 600, 650 or 955), yo might try looking into that if the GSXR mirros don't work.

If you can get your hands on the GSXR mirror, you could compare the mounts and see how much of a mod would be needed to attach it......

I mean...  You could get any mirror on there with enough modification.
