Not a vanagon...just a '77 type 2.

I measured with a tape and it seems really close...just don't have another hand here at the moment to test it out.

I donno man, but that would be PIMP. you should put it in facing backwards so you can ride it out of the back while speeding down the highway at 110. Just like James Bond! :icon_mrgreen:
Stealth GS parts include;carbon fiber headlight faring, chin spoiler,V&H full system,NHK steeringdamper, titan solo racetail,cbrF2 carbon fiber chainguard, proformance forksprings with emulators,SS front brake line, gsxr remote reservoir rear shock, pirelli sport demons,79mm pistons(555cc)-more to come

Yeah but why would James Bond be driving a VW bus????

I fit my 1990 in the back of my 1996 Ford Windstar, and it was close.  About an inch of clearance on the top with the mirrors removed and the bars loosened and bent down.  Don't know if that helps, in fact, I'm pretty sure it doesn't, but good luck nonetheless.   :dunno_white:

dont forget you can compress the forks with ratchet tie downs to get some extra clearance.

I think you'll be the only one with a GS and a VW bus here on this board.

:dunno_white: i used to move my dirtbike to the track with a minibus with a wheelchair lift...worked perfectly....

I did move my gs in a vanagon once, so it fit in there without the mirrors and some ratchet straps

Thanks for the replies.

I really liked this one: "I think you'll be the only one with a GS and a VW bus here on this board."

Well, that's good...I'm pretty sure that the inside dimensions are relatively close to that of a Vanagon.

I'd actually be really surprised if I were the only one here who owns a VW bus...from my experience with this board the kind of folks who own GS' seem pretty similar to the kind who drive bus'.  Sorry to spoil your view of your baby GS but the power to weight ratio of the GS is the rough equivalent of the power/weight ratio of a VW bus.  In other words you ride the motorcycle equivalent of a VW bus...maybe not an older one but definitely a Vanagon.  The "F" models are the equivalent of a Eurovan.

EDIT:  I know for a FACT that GS member Indestructibleman has at simultaneously owned a VW bus and a GS.   :flipoff:

I don't think you could ride it out the back... There's an engine in the way.. Hell James Bond drove a Ford Granada in one of his movies.. Much less cool than VW

I'm glad someone said it...  I was just thinking that. :icon_lol:

Someone doesn't know much about VWs. :icon_razz:

It's not a VW bus that it goes in, and definitely not a GS500 being ridden, but if you're talented, you could load it like this guy:
