those look like standard arrow style from lockhart phillips, turned sideways to face the center. no, not the safest-in fact just installing the smaller ones will compromise your being visible (day or night) in my opinion. I always stuck with OEM, even when I did the Buell signals...Buell OEM signals were actually brighter than my OEM suzuki.

It looks like they would be hard to see from most any angle that mattered. How would the right turn signal be seen from someone on your right if its facing the left?

I always use my signals. turning, changing lanes, w/e. I will also use hand signals when changing lanes if it seems there is a particualrly absent minded cager behind or beside me.

if your that worried about being caged do what one of the guys at my work do .. he uses his hand signal even though he has his turn blinker on . have to rember . no matter how big or how small a blinker on a bike . the amount of them paying enough attition to see it is pretty slim . heck our bikes are bigger then our bliinkers and ppl still dont see us . but so you dont start ranting . i under stand the smaller blinkers vs oem vs bla bla bla . i'm just saying .
