I have a fuel tank that I bought off of ebay.  It's a nice tank, with a beautiful red paint job.  It has a sticker on the bottom with the part number including color code.  Google returns nothing.  The part number on the bottom is 44100-01DF0-Y0W.  The person I bought it from said she got it from the UK.  Any ideas what this color could be?

If you post a picture I will tell you.  :icon_razz:

Sure doesn't correspond to the Color Rite codes does it?

That's the problem with a global bike. Different markets have other options and IF the "Y0W" is the color code, and I agree that it is, it would take a UK source to confirm it.

Sledge, Red_Phil, others? Got any codes for that side of the pond?

The only picture i have is from the auction.

I don't have a camera, but I can tell you that those pictures aren't very representative of the tank.  It positively glows in the sunlight.

I think you're referring to starwalt's chart at http://home.bellsouth.net/p/s/community.dll?ep=87&subpageid=227385&ck=

It doesn't have the code.  :(

Oh, and I know that it's reddish-orange!

Cool, thanks.  I think I'll try Suzuki North America first, since that'll be cheaper on my phone bill, but I'll definitely give them a call if I can't find out anything.

The color looks like this one?  1999 GS500E UK and European models.

That looks like the color.  It *is* nice, which is why I'd like to match it.  I might just have to settle for "the best the paint shop can do"

Just send suzuki of UK a email asking for the red color code for the 1999e's.  Once you get it take it to a paint shop and ask if they can match it.  Or if you have not installed the tank yet, take it to a good body shop they should be able to match it pretty close without the code's or they might be able to get the code for you.  Just a thought

I found it!  Thank you ColorRite!  Now if it wasn't $100/pint (plus the base coat) I'd be set.
