Ok, it was gonna happen some time right...

This turn near my house got me good. This is my first fall and it sure felt worse than i thought. Scars will look cool later, but you lose your superman feeling and learn how close the road reallty is. I wanted to light the bike on fire right there, new and all, but i picked it, started it up and went to work all messed up.

So now i get to ask... Where is the best site for new stuff. I would like good resources for everything, gloves, helmet shield, jacket.  And also parts resource for an 05 GS. It surprisingly only needs some silver and black paint but i want all the sites you pros got.

I didn't want to ride again, but i'm back up and going strong now about a week later. Rock on guys!

Newenough.com and kneedraggers.com have good prices on riding gear.  If you have a local shop check them out too, and if the price is comparable buy your stuff there.

could you please elaborate and give details about how this happened? I am always interested in everyone's experiences when they fall (you know... to learn from others?)

I have not fell just yet, and I know that when I do, is going to suck really bad (all my accidents/cuts/whatever always leave an 'impression')
Caturday yet?

I don't know about the black and silver but the '04 blue is hard to find and even harder to mix... If you need more than just a touch up pen check out: www.color-rite.com

You can also buy lowers and other plastic already painted from ronayers.com and pick up some gear from ironpony.com

Fett's (CRASHED) Ride-Flush Mounts, Aluizio Undertail, Aluizio Hugger, Wileyco w/flange, K&N, Sudco Jets, Custom Painted Tail & Fender, 2wheeljunkie LED Tails & Factory Clip-ons       Now I'm rolling an old school GSXR1100 w/1260cc kit built by Joe Marasco himself and two Harley 883 sportsters!

What gear were you wearing, if any? Scars are not fun, and depending on severity can impede movement and cause nerve damage. I know this from experience, and I was wearing gear.

Sorry you had to learn the value of riding gear the hard way. Don't feel bad, I did it the same way.

Along with parts, Ebay is a good way to find gear on the cheap (sometimes) as long as you know what you want and what fits before hand.

Hey guys good posts, thanks for the web sites. i like to see them on posts so others can check em out too.

Yeah, showing off roadrash get old real quick, but they are healin up ok now a week later. The ghetto gear of choise actually did a great job, but i dont want to rely on it again. here is my list of protection...

New great Alpine Star "hand only gloves", New HJC helmet. Then an under shirt, a shirt, a nice polyester jacket, and a thick but not rugged snowboarding jacket. Two pairs of pants and just shoes and socks.

The most damage was to the bottom of my left wrist from the short gloves. The jacket protected most everything but it did get a hole all the way thru to my rigth elbow, but only a tiny rash there. My pants, both of them, had a huge apple sized hole and a equaly large annoying, painful, irratating, horrific hole in my left cheek. shoes and helmet got a little scraped but ok.

I slow down a lot more for turns now that i have proven my idea that not every turn is a groomed clean track corner. Its tough to get back on but i feel good that i will ride again. I love workin on cars so i will try and get her lookin like new again. I am looking at all your sigs for ideas on minor additions onto the bike. Any tips on lights, and mirrors would be nice.

Make sure you get a real riding jacket and pair of pants this time... don't have to be leather, but that's the best. Personally I have Joe Rocket jacket and pants, they're made of Cordura (canvas-like nylon textile, basically). They've got armor on the back, shoulders, elbows/forearms and knees, and I don't think I could cut the material itself with a knife if I tried.
