My bike won't start. It is a 2006 gs500. I only had it for a month or so. This is the second time this happend. The first time I left the it in the parking position. I know I didn't do that this time. All I hear is a clicking sound. What's going on? Is it the Battery? Why does this keep happening? I'll appreciate the input!

Battery is part flat, the sound you hear is the solenoid dropping in and out as the starter motor draws what little current there is left in the battery while trying to turn the engine over. What happens is this......you press the start button, solenoid pulls in, starter motor tries to turn. Motor draws all available current from the partially flat battery in an attempt to rotate. As a result solenoid drops out and takes the motor out of circuit, this frees up enough amps to pull the solenoid back in straight away and the cycle repeats itself until the battery totaly discharges. The question now is why is the battery flat,? Are you aware that when you leave it in park the head and tail-light are illuminated and the battery will quickly discharge?

How long has it been sitting since you last rode it?  If it's been more than a week, it could be a few things, the known problems to me are: not enough fluid in the battery, because in humid areas the rate of evaproation is greater.  And, the dealer didn't fully charge the battery when they sold the bike to you.  Or, it has been sitting long enough for the battery to completely discharge (extreme temperatures do not help) .
The motorcycle is no longer the hobby, the skill has become the hobby.

Power does not compare to skill.  What good is power without the skill to use it?

I positive that I haven't left my bike in the parked position. What's weird to me is that the bike started the first time, then i turn the bike off to move it in a parking space and when I tried to restart it all i got was that clicking sound

Nah the bike wasn't sitting for long. I rode it the day before!

might just check to make sure that the connections to the battery aren't loose or corroded.  Since it is an 06 they shouldn't be corroded but they might be loose.  If niether is the case then i would go with a dead battery, try charging it and if that doesn't work then buy a new battery.  If that doesn't work take it back to the dealer and show them the reciept for the battery and tell them to fix it.

There can only be 1 of 2 things wrong here. The fact that the solenoid is clicking tells us that its working and that the starter motor is in circuit but is not getting enough current to rotate. So either the battery has failed and is not holding enough charge to power the motor, or there is a poor connection or earth on the motor side of the circuit. If its an `06 wont it still be covered by the makers warrenty? Personaly I suspect the battery, I had one fail in exactly the same way, ok one day, next wouldnt hold a charge. Ok yours is a new item but it may have been sub-standard to start with. I think in this case the first thing to do is phone Suzuki and see what they reccomend.

Another possibility could be a problem with the charging system. You need to get Suzuki and the Dealer involved, you have paid for the warrenty so let them sort it out.

Yeah! I jump started my bike and let it run for 30 minutes and when i turned the bike off, it wouldn't start again. I did this 2x. I'm going to call my dealer and tell them what happened
