Lights and Fairings... is it normal?

2 questions for the community experts...

1. The headlamp is bright, but if I increase the rpms on the motorcycle, the light becomes brighter... noticeable brighter. I know the alternator (motorcycles have one too, right?) increases the voltage with more rpms... but, is there a threshold that indicates the battery is going down? is it perfectly normal for the headlamps to become much more brighter at higher rpms?

2. I have a 05F (fairings). I rarely do 80 or so, but I just have to ask because of the existance of 'naked' bikes with the same power output (gs500E) Do you achieve faster speeds on the same 500cc bike with a fairing? will deflecting the wind helps you to go faster on a gs500?
Caturday yet?

Theoretically yes, a fairing helps achieve a better top speed. The increased aerodynamics allow less drag thus allowing for a higher top speed. I noticed that at higher speeds my naked seemed to take bit longer to accelerate than the faired version. As for top speed, I know the E can get to 115, and I think the F can get to 120. Not that much difference.

Yea my lights get a little brighter when on idle and I give her some throttle, I dont think my lights could get much brighter when I rev it because I have the silverstars.
I think the fairing does help with the top end, mine will barely manage 125 in a super long road that goes down hill I was amazed and excited, then my cousin flies by me on his zzr600 and I was like DAMN!!!!

His ZZR600 flew by you not because of the fairing but because the engine is far more advanced and more powerful than yours. ~100HP compared to ~40HP. He could have been running a naked ZZR and still would have blown by you.

^^^^No it was the fairing that made him faster^^^^ ha ha  j\k. Yea I know his bike is fast and I was feeling special being able to go that fast on my 500 when he shattered my happyness by flying by me.

Try having 5 FZ1s fly by you at 150mph, one of them being your dad. Not 150 indicated either, 150 ACTUAL.
