Guys, you are misunderstanding. These pipes that you are buying are slip-ons. Meaning that from the factory whichever bike your pipe was meant for attaches by bolts. You unbolt the stock pipe and bolt on the new pipe. Not all applications will come with a flange. Did I clear that up for you, guys?

I think we have a miscommunication with "flanges" and "gaskets".

The flange is made by Srinath. It's used to fit an aftermarket pipe to your GS' stock headers.

The gasket comes with the (or some) pipes and is fitted between the exhaust manifold of the bike it was intended for and the slip-on can you buy. As far as I know, the Wileyco can comes with a "donut" type gasket that isn't needed in our application.

I hope I said this right, and I hope it helps.

Dave

These pics helped me understand better. Yes, the flange that came with the can is useless for our GS. Only the srinath's flange would. right?

So what you're saying is that the people who have said that their Wileyco came with a flange.... mistook a rubber gasket for a...... steel flange? and that our cans aren't actually supposed to come with flanges in the box at all?

looks like it's time for me to backpaddle with the seller... I got him scratching his head cause he's not sure if there should be one included in my box or not... :icon_lol:

I'm thinking people are giving misnomers to parts...or they're calling them the right thing, but it is causing some confusion.

Srinath makes a flange that goes between our midpipe and an aftermarket can, because we don't have the option of installing a true slip-on, like a lot of bikes where you can unbolt the stock can and put on another. We need to cut out stock pipe, fit the srinath flange with the three holes, and then bolt the new can on.

The parts supplied with some cans may technically be called a flange, but we don't need these. We need the srinath flange and the aftermarket can, that's all.

To add my 2 cents in here, the Carbon exhaust I received from the eBay guy, did contain a FLANGE. It's build exactly like the flange we're all waiting for, just not the same length and shape i'd imagine. So yes some of these exhausts, mine being one of them, are coming with flanges that are meant to do the same thing our custom flange is meant to do, just meant for the bike it was ordered for, in my case a gsx1200.

Mine came with the decal in the box not attached to the can.  You don't have to stick your Wileyco sticker on.  Matter of fact you can grab your wileyco sticker and stick it on someone's Harley  :thumb:
Pilot 22.5, Mid 65 , Mains 147.5, Mixture screw 3.5 turns out

Even if the voices aren't real they have some good ideas.

HAHAH no I'll stick to keeping the decal on the can... altho it would be super funny to slap one of those on my buddy's harley!!!  :icon_twisted:

Wrecent... sorry dude, but I'm not going to sell you my can... but you can buy this one for a measely little $85!

Are you seriously holding off of buying one of these great deals because of a decal?

worst case scenario, you use a bit of adhesive remover or simply mount the can so the decal points inwards....

but seriously, the decal on mine definetly is NOT a permanent one... and from the sounds of it... neither is anyone else's....

QuoteI have to pull the tank and check the size of that hose, I've asked here 4 times, no response

Wow man, you're either really patient or REALLY lazy... I'm guessing you've never pulled the tank off before, It takes a whole 2 minutes (maybe 3). Remove 2 bolts from rear cowls, pop em off. remove 2 bolts from tank slide it back, close the tank's petcock and pull off hte hoses. Done!

But ya I do agree about the whole time thing, there is alot to do leading up to installing the can, but each job on its own isn't that hard.... installing the can itself is an afternoon gig. But to each his own I guess...

good luck in your endeavours! (sp?)

Actually if you have a grinder it'll take you all but 20 minutes to install the pipe and flange.
