Time For A New Bike....

I'm LOVING my new boy! The SV650S rawks!! :icon_mrgreen: He's got loads of power w/o being twitchy. The SVS definitely has a lot more power than the GS, plenty that I *could* get in trouble with, but not so much that I for sure WOULD get in trouble!

I was looking for reliable, and I got it. I still love the Baby G, but my commuter was getting a bit long in the tooth, and with me being at work or commuting to/from work for 12 hours a day or more, I just don't have the time to wrench on him as much as he needs/deserves.

I'll reiterate, though, that if the GS500F had FI, I absolutely would have considered it. The other big difference for me between the GS and SVS is height. I could flat-foot it on my Baby G, but I tippytoe on the SVS. After having dropped him a couple of times due to slight inclines  :icon_rolleyes:, I've decided to either get platform boots or have a cobbler put thicker soles on my moto boots. If that's still not tall enough, then I'll try shaving the seat. With a couple inches more on my boots and perhaps an inch or inch and a half off the seat, I'd feel better about less-than-perfect surfaces. I'm fine on dry, flat surfaces, but if I put my foot down on an oil slick or if there's even a slight incline, then I get into trouble. I get into more trouble standing still than when I'm "varying" the RPMs.  (I'm 5'4" for frame of reference.)

But....I'm madly in love with my new baby.

I still have ratbike, and my wonderful bf just changed the oil on him yesterday, and he emptied the tanked, cleaned it, and put fresh gas in him a little while back. But the battery might have finally bit the big one. Now that Spring/Summer's on the way (meaning more light later in the day), I'll dedicate myself a bit more to cleaning up the ratbike and getting him on the road. I might even paint him PURPLE:icon_mrgreen:

But, for now, we're in Mexico, and it's raining like an SOB outside, so it's time to go get more Cerveza, Tequila, y Margaritas!!!  :icon_mrgreen:  :thumb:

*hiccup*  :icon_twisted: :icon_mrgreen: :icon_mrgreen: :icon_mrgreen:

I'll read this tomorrow and see if it makes any sense.  :icon_rolleyes:

And if I didn't answer a specific question you might have, ask away! O0
