Now question... from the dmv website it says inspections are from April to October.. does this mean I can ride till April without inspection? Just in case if there's a freak day in March

Hi there,
It's probably like it is here in PA.
Inspections are only done from April to October on bikes because that's when they figure people ride them. The DOT figures no one is out riding from November to March, so there'd be no way for them to get their bikes inspected because of inclement weather. Here in PA the inspection is staggered 6 months from when your registration is up for renewal.
You should have gotten your inspection earlier apparently, and it its expired, you should get it done ASAP.
My registration renews on April 30  and my inspection is due by Oct. 31.
Get it inspected on time, man, to avoid the hassles.
Good luck,
Todd.

Since it has never been inspected then they really can't give me a ticket for not inspecting it when it can't be inspected... sound good to me!

Hi again,
Believe me, if they want to find a reason to give you a ticket, they WILL find a reason to give you a ticket.
Just get it done and avoid the aggravation.
It's up to you, of course.
Just be sure and tell us the funny story when you get pulled over, lectured, ticketed and harrassed.
Good luck,
Todd:)

Exactly. His post was rude and never needed to be posted in the first place. In the meantime I'll ride till then.

His post was NOT rude. Yours was. Todd is about the least offensive person I can think of, up there with Kerry, or Pandy. He wasn't trying to be rude or a smartass, he was simply pointing out that if a cop wants to give you a ticket, a cop WILL give you a ticket. When it comes down to it, it's the cops will against ours. Most cops I know are pretty cool, and would let you slide, maybe give you a warning, but probably just a verbal slap on the wrist. I agree with you, ride it until April, and chances are good nothing will happen. But there is still the possibility of a ticket, and a cop would be well within his rights to issue that ticket. Todd was just urging you to consider both sides before you continued to ride. I thought your second response was a bit rude, but I stayed out of it. So in short, ride the bike, do what you want, but be aware that the possibility of a ticket still looms.

Hang out there, we may flame, but we don't hate.

My attitude is in serious need of readjustment, and I'm ok with that.

I'm sorry how was my second response rude? There was no point in my reponse that mentions that I was going to not have the bike inspected at all or directed at him at all. He then comments it back with the cop having the right to ticket. If he had left it as that, it would have been perfectly fine with me. He then proceeds to leave leaves a prude remark about waiting for a comment from me when if I get caught. That is what I found offensive.

Well genius tell me how do I get a bike inspected in March when they only run inspections April to October?

Yes I must admit that was rude on my part (and will take it out) but it was a response after he posted this

This isn't exactly the most friendliest response that you can wish upon a fellow rider that's all...

Deeeeep breath, everyone!

I've found Todd to be a good guy, and I don't think he was wishing anything bad on you. I think it was more of a voice of experience that just rubbed you the wrong way, toole2go, and it went down from there.  :)

Did you ask the DMV or see if they have an FAQ that might provide an answer? Hopefully, you'll never, ever find out whether the cops would want to give you a ticket!  :thumb:

P.S. NGFL called me one of the least offensive....BOY do I have HIM snowed!  :kiss3:
