Ok, let's say you are doing a backyard baseball game. You have 6 people, 3 on each team. Let's say for example, that your team is at bat. You have one guy on 1st, one guy on 2nd, and then you are hitting. Let's say you hit the ball and make it to first base. The guy on 2nd makes it to 3rd, and the guy that was one 1st made it to second. Now you have all three of your players on the bases - but now who is going to bat? Most likely, you would take the guy from 3rd base and send him to the plate and call a "ghosty" on third. It is like saying "I know there is no one ACTUALLY there, but let's pretend there is for general purpose". So then the guy that was on third base goes to bat - hits the ball - and then the "ghosty" runs home and scores a run.

LMAO, I was just kidding about elaborating... I thought your first explanation was more than sufficient so I just wanted to mess with ya a lil bit.  :icon_razz:   :icon_lol:

We never used the word "ghostie"...we just yelled "invisible man on third!!"

CHILLAX!!! haha  you like my word?

Rich, we'll miss you, and never forget you. <3

Well, "invisible man on third" just sounds...I dunno, too jerseyish.  :flipoff: "Ghostie" is by far cooler terminology. Hell, "ghostie" is even cooler than "chillax", which my cousin says too, by the way  :icon_razz:

I thought I'd be making the trip to PA by myself, but I invited a ghostie along with me to keep my company.  :thumb:

Ghostie only owes me $20, Weasie owes me the other $20.  That's ok tho, I made Ghostie wash/wax my bike and change my oil for me this afternoon, so we're square.  :thumb:

Hi Phaedrus et al,

Well I left Rich (Phaedrus) a message the other day that I won't be able to make it to the gathering next weekend after all...
I really was looking forward to seeing you all and getting to know you in person, but it will have to wait until our next PA gathering. Some other things came up in life and I have to ride that wave right now.
Have a great, safe, fun weekend and I hope we all have great weather, wherever we are!
Best wishes to you all, and please tell me what I missed!  Believe me, if this weren't important, I wouldn't be skipping out on the GS Twins trip.
:)
Yours always,

Yo

5days and chump change till I'm bbq'n with the gang sitt'n back w/ a cold one 8)

Just to settle all disputes correctly baseball termonology infers the actual word "ghostie" as a figure that takes place of an impending run batted in. However all close calls go to the runner [that would be the ghostie] so the chances of throwing a ghostie out are slim to none.....

Just to let you all know my ghostie is leading our group ride...So if something should happen <<points finger>> he did it not me

I'm going to be there early friday since I have beautifully orchestrated a 5day weekend. :) However it will be after 3p.m. or right close to it. I figure I'll be up early saturday [like 8ish and that's sleeping in to me because of my work schedule] so Julie/Chris let me know Cuz I feel like a good bike ride down to Allentown on Saturday morning to grab some coffee and donuts and I'll be sure to bring one or two cops :icon_razz:

ok I need to know Jetswing's plan of action for the sat. ride as I've been Amandatory approved to lead, yet I have no idea where I'm leading too. Anyone can get me a list of the road would be great since his little flash site has had a melt down or something of that sort.

Is I-476 a toll road? it comes up green on the map and not red like "normal" highways....

My pit stop on the way home sunday....anyone else?

Hi Jace,

Yes 476 is a toll road. That's the Northeast Extension of the PA Turnpike, which is also a toll road.

Have a great trip.

I would love to haul groceries for all of you guys, but if we're going to have at least one person with a car, then I volunteer them to bring a few of us to the store.  I don't think I could carry as much stuff as we would need.  They're not really that big.

I hope you're all praying for beautiful weather.

We should  bring cards just in case!  for strip poker  :o

beware, I noticed today that sandy valley debited me a second time for my campsite. once back in april when i made the reservation, and once again the other day.  Probably an honest mistake, and ill call em tomar, but u guys might want to check.

Also, my fiance will be taking the car to the campground, so she says as long as all the new people we meet from the internet aren't psychos like those people on dateline nbc, then shes game for going to the grocery store. lol.

cards? poker? I have chips.

pdg108 you still wanna ride out around 4-5 fri? i was going to see if theres any other options than rt 80 sometime this week.

LadyJules31

Chris, are we still meeting at 9am on Saturday morning at Kmart?

That was my, plan.  The weather is looking ok at the moment.  I get done with work at 4:30 and could meet you at the park and ride of of exit 5 (Turbotville) on 180 at about 5:00 maybe 5:15 at the latest.  Getting out to the campground any other way but, I-80 could be done but would turn it from a 1:20 ride to a 4 hr ride. :)  Maybe we can cut a corner off and use rt54? But a whole lot more than that seems tough.

So has anybody thought about firewood?  From personnal experiance the GS can only carry 6 or 8 peices of wood at a time. :)  And usually campgrounds are stripped bare of anything remotely flamable. :icon_rolleyes:

Yeah i was looking at the map today. looks like 80 all the way is the best.  Im going to leave work around 4pm on Fri. I work right in williamsport. Where were talking about meeting? i can be there around 5:00 - 5:15, and give u my cell phone before then. PM me.

Now i see where ur talking about. Turbotville community park?  I was planning on goin down 15 to 80, but that park is not far from there at all. let me know if the park is still good for you.

Chris2P

OK, I'm going to come up after work saturday night.  I think it'll tale me 2 hours to get up there from work so I sould be at the campground between 7 or 8 pm depending on how early I can sneak out of work..  Here's the thing.  I got to work sunday morning so realistically I should camp out to get at least 4 - 6 hours shut eye before riding back.  Do I need to reserve a campsite or can I "bumb up" at somones site?  I'll provise my own tent and will pay you for the night to share costs.  Is that possible at this campsite or do I need to book a spot?  If we have thunderstorms all day, I might just drive the car up, not very fun but Ireally want to meet oher GSers!  In which case I can bring up some provisions ie: firewood, beer, food.  I can take a nap in the car before I take off.   What do you all think?

Give a man a fish, and you have fed him for a day.  Teach a man to fish, and he'll sit in a boat and drink beer all day.

Well, they prolly like you to pay for a site for obvious reasons. BUT, they want you to rent a 2 night minimum. That would be silly to pay all that money for a few hours, I wouldn't do it. I am sure someone would be willing to let you bum off their site. Hopefully!! I know Matt (LimaXray) posted a few pages ago that he wouldnt mind sharing a site, but not a tent, with a guy.  If he doesnt poke his head in and post soon, you might wanna PM him and see if the offer still stands.  :dunno_white: No hurt in asking!

Nothing wrong with bringing your car up to meet everyone. We've had members who have had to that before..(looks at you know who)..  :icon_razz: I don't speak for everyone else, but I don't think it matters how you get there - just get there! You are part of GStwin no matter what you ride in with. You'll get to meet some of the best GStwinners in the northeast  :icon_mrgreen: So whether you ride the bike or drive the car, or bum a tent site or nap in the car, be sure to come  :thumb:
