oh man, i just set up my tent to air it out from last summer. I forgot how small it is. Ill have to sleep corner to corner in it again.

What are u guys bringing for rain gear? stuff to ride in the rain? or just stuff incase it rains while we are there. I dont think i have either, oh boy.

Well, "it is supposed to rain" all weekend. However, I'm not going to let that dampen my trip and I encourage others to take the same approach.  :thumb: Besides, the chance that it will rain 100% for the entire time is unlikely. It has to let up eventually - if it even rains. I don't have any true rain gear myself; but my riding gloves are waterproof as is my cargo bag I'll be bringing much of my stuff in. Thats about it.

So dont worry Nick, I dont have true rain gear either.

BTW, last year on my way down to PA for the Carlisle trip, it rained the entire time from home all the way to Allentown, with about a half an hour to 45 minutes of that being thunderstorm.  :icon_rolleyes: How annoying.

Heres the weather for the weekend:

http://www.weather.com/weather/weekend/17821?from=36hr_topnav_undeclared

30% or less usually means no rain around here. 40% usually means it hardly rains. And scattered t-storms are quick.  I think it will be a nice weekend.

my bet is on afternoon t-storm after that cold front move through our area on friday evening...

yea my riding rain gear consist of zooming to the nearest over hang and waiting it out pretty much....<<for a down pour

Just remember to put your clothes and such in zip lock bags and it'll be nice and dry when you go to change into them at the camp site. I'm just now starting to gather my "junk" up and I'm seeing opportunities to leave some stuff at home....I'm getting a getto milk crate and just going to bunge it to my rear seat and my back pack carrying my clothes..........

On the good the rain may wash off the bug population growing on my front fairing/head light :bs:

oh crap maybe I only have gravel too... hmmm, I'll just have to drink a whole lot before I go to sleep if that's the case

So yeah, the weather forcast is getting worse... oh well... I ordered some rain gear, but who knows if I'll get it in time... if not, I'll just deal with being wet all weekend

Sat is down to 20% chance of rain. that means no rain.

Today in williamsport, it said 80% chance of rain. I woke up at 7am, the ground was wet, not raining. and by 9am the sun was out

Phaedrus

A wise man once said the best weather forecast is your window.  :thumb:

We'll just have to play it by ear and make the best of it. We might have to adjust our ride time. If it is pouring at 10am or whatever, we can hang out and push it back a bit till it clears up. And when we get ready to cook out, we can fire it up early to fire it up late if necessary.

We'll be ok  :thumb:

However, I am willing to bet money that the worst part of the storm - with the highest winds, thunder, and heavy rain - will be Friday night on my way down. Despite what the weather forecast calls for, I bet there will be a big dark cloud - just big enough to cover me and my bike - going about 60mph from Binghamton NY to White Haven, PA.

Hey guys! Sorry for late notice but now there is a chance I can make it sat morning.  I don't have a tent so fully realizing it's very late in the game I was wondering if someone would share a cabin sat night (i would come by myself)?  If there is a possibility I am going  to try to get out of other things I have to do sat.

Phaedrus had you done this six years earlier I would've ridden with you - I lived in binghamton for 4 years.  But as I am not there anymore, is anyone riding up from the NYC area to keep me company if I end up being able to go (and be accomodated..)?

Hey sounds really cool what you guys are planning, rain or not

awesome, deff screw anything else you might have planned and come, I'm sure you'll have a much better time with us  :thumb:

it's not the last minute, don't you worry... I don't know the status of the cabins, but I'm sure there are plenty of camping spots that can be shared.  I don't have a tent either, but they have a good selection of cheap tents at walmart and I'll probably pick one up tonight.  You can also rent a tent there

oh boy I'm getting excited!

Check with Ginoe - PM him if necessary. He is coming from Rockland county last I knew, and he will be coming down Saurday morning. That is about as close to the city as any of us, I believe. "Cept maybe the jersey people but they are mostly coming Friday night. I also don't know about the camping. They do rent tents there for like an extra $8, and I am still unsire of the cabin size. I wish I had scoped them out in person a while back. Walmart does have a cheap little hiker's tent for like $35 and it is very small and fits one person and fits on a bike I think, and looks easy and quick to set up. So thats an option.

Do what you gotta do, just be sure to come!  :thumb:

Rich,  I have sort of a personal question for you, but I'm going to ask you on this open forum anyway.....

CAN YOU BRING YOUR LUBE?    :icon_twisted:

I seriously need some chain lube on short notice. If it's possible, I need to borrow some b/c as soon as we get to PA, I have to take care of my chain.  I'll tell u all about it on Friday.  Chris said you would love to help me out.  That's true isn't it?   Your ice cream will be on me if you can help me out.

I love you all, see you Friday/Saturday.  I'm sure I'll be up at 5am and posting on here until we leave like I did last year!
