Tail light.

And I'm not sure about what I'm gonna do for the install, but I have a wiring questions for the guys (or pandy) here who  know the electrical ins and outs.

Yes, it's an LED light. And yes, I know the problems that the low resistance causes, from personal experience. But I need to know if resistors inbetween the LEDs and the wiring harness may do the job of fixing the fast flash issue. Or do they need to be put on the flasher indicator dash light?

I'm at the bar and the tail light is at home, but it does have the info on the back of the volts or watts or whatever. So I can pots that when I get home if that will help people decide what resistor to use.

Dave,

I suggest you give StarWalt a PM.

He's got a very helpful post back in the LED blinkers & tail lamp thread.  Have a peek at his diagram.  The explanation is primarily about the turn indicators, but it's all inter-related and well worth the reference.  :thumb:

The info on the back of the light says:

US: 12V3.4 / 0.4W

EU: 12V2.6 / 0.4W

If we are talking about tail lights on the GS ONLY, you can be assured it will not affect your turn signal circuits.

CAVEAT - Integrated turn signals and tail light. The above statement does not apply. I would need to see the wiring diagram for the bike (if not a GS).

God save us from LED turn signal mods!

Arrrr, so I have the options of either leaving the setup that I have or installing the LED taillight and some independant turn signals. I like the LEDs and they may even be sweet as just the brake light. I don't know what to do yet, because I haven't even started thinking about how to install the unit, even if just for a brake light.

Thanks.
