I thought New Orleans was a pretty sweet time even though I did get mugged in Jackson Square.  But I hope it comes back better than ever.

The problem is that this country is run by a freakin' moron.  The stupidity trickles down from there.

John Stewart showed a clip the other night on the Daily Show the director of FEMA testifying before congress.  The FEMA director's quote was, "To be honest with you, I feel a little abandoned."

That was funny as hell.  Granted, some of those people were really stupid and many of them behaved like animals.  Which also didn't surprise me.

Oh I'm sorry for being wrong and beliving what I have read in the news papers and seen on the TV.  And people have been pushing for over 10 years to get those leves repaired / fixed/ strenghted however you might want to phrase it.
And yes congress should give people money for loosing their houses getting moved to a different state, getting free hotel rooms and food while staying there and then wanting to have a demonstration when FEMA announced that they were not going to pay for hotels after the end of March because they were to lazy to get jobs.  The people who came from New Orleans and rebuilt their lives arrived here got set up, enrolled their children in schools, got jobs, those are the people that should get help if they want it.
I said the people brought it upon them selves . . . they did. . . who elected the Gov in LA?  The People did.  But some people don't care .  .. they don't vote. . .and the government ends up being currupted.

The levee's were never seen as broken . . .they should have been. They were overflowed before in 1940 1965 and 1995.  If something is not working the way it's supposed to then yes I'll call it broken.
But then again I'm an idiot so what do I care.

Also don't worry the Federal Gove will pay all that money and they will fix New Orleans because of the revenue it brings in.

OK, I'm going to say this ONE MORE TIME!!!  New Orleans will eventually succumb to the Mississippi.  It is a river delta.. a naturally chaotic system consisting of sinking sediment and rivers that flood and change course every few hundred years.  200 years ago nobody knew that this was the way of things.  200 years of science has remedied that.  anyone with a geology degree (like me) will tell you that.  My heart goes out to the residents who lost ther homes and livelihood to the storm.  My PITY goes out to the dumbasses who try to rebuild on a RIVER DELTA.  DAR!!!! THINK... THEN SPEND.  geez

I'm sorry this is a motorcycle forum not a place for politics.  I"ll keep my thoughts to myself unless it's motorcycle related.

Don't forget Florida.  It will eventually get creamed by a hurricane again.  Maybe twice a year.  What about Seattle? Mount Rainier will eventually erupt and destroy it.  Then you have California.  It is for sure either getting creamed by a tsunami or it may just fall into the ocean.  Mount St. Helens is bound to erupt again, but at least they know what to expect.  Then there is San Francisco.  Wait until the giant earth quake.  New Orleans will likely not ever be able to control the direction of that river.  It is likely going to wonder all over the place.  Like an old man looking for a place to scratch his ass in church.  Oh, and what about all those people around the world that got creamed by that tsunami last year?  They would be stupid to continue living there.
I agree.  We should give up on New Orleans.  We'll forget about the shipping industry.  Dubai will own all that industry soon enough anyway.  As a matter of fact, everyone go to a window right now.  If you see a body of water or what looks like an old volcano or what is historically a fault line, then pack up your crap like the Jode family and meet me in central Nebraska.  We can start a commune there and stare at the horizon, calm and safe as Hindu cows.

I don't know if you knew this or not, but uh, Jake D isn't afraid of tornados.  As a matter of fact, that is why he lives in KC.  He used to live in Limon, CO., and he just got dropped off here by a twister.  Decided to set up shop.
