ive already been here for a bit but never really got involved in many of the posts
my name is jacob frye and i live in ventura california
im 18, and in college
i got a 06 gs500f a few months ago because i needed to save some money on gas
but sadly slipped in wet tar going 45 and slid into a car
thankfully no one was hurt but i did do 3500 in damages to my baby
the insurence company has already ruled the city of ventura was at faullt for the accident for not putting signs up or anything
so all i have left to do now is fix my bike
someone else put this site for gs parts already and i was looking through it and found a single person seat kit for a pretty decent price.
does anyone have one? does this place seem legit?
check it out

That site is legit.  That site is over priced IMO.  Fabricate your own, or PM the member Cafeboy.  I think he has a mold for a seat cowl.  If you really want to blow some money, check the seat in the Wiki.

I like the looks of it, but hate the price of it.  Good luck getting things put back together.

looks like the tank and frame and rear plastics are all ok, but i cant really tell.
are the forks bent?

are there any real mechanical problems?

buy the parts and fix what you need to to make it rideable.
then buy a headlight and turnsignals and convert it to naked.

then you get a bike that looks 5000 times better then it did before, and you can pocket the majority of the insurance money.

AlphaFireX5 did a fantastic conversion from his F model to naked, but i cant find the post right now.

edit: i found it http://gstwins.com/gsboard/index.php?topic=21212.0
mebbe this would be a good thing to put into the FAQs? I think a lot of people with ugly F models would want to make their bikes look good ;)

PM cafeboy... I have one of his kits, as the original tester.. I don't have it done yet, but now that I have some money (Thanks Christmas!) I'll be finishing it up, taking pics, and posting a review here.

Hang out there, we may flame, but we don't hate.

My attitude is in serious need of readjustment, and I'm ok with that.

i was actually planning on converting it to an E model but just decided to keep it full faired
i have this crazy vision of getting the single seat from wild hair accesories,
the GSR fairing from aluizio
and other stuff to make my bike look really sweet instead of going out and getting a R1 or somethin
its a lot more fun to drive a slow bike fast than a fast bike slow right? :icon_mrgreen:

o yea i cant afford any other bikes insurence anyways,
