On the 1st of April I'll be going for a run down to Nowra. At the moment there's about 20 from the bike shop heading down, so theres a fair chance I should be able to hook onto a group for the ride.

What I would like is some advice on the best roads down & back  :thumb:

I'm thinking that on the Sunday on the way back I might just head off on my own. If I get a chance I'd like to go on that coastal road near the Gong that opened end of last year.

The more I learn about women, the more I love my bike.

Instead of going back North East towards Berri/Gerrigong, just keep heading south to Nowra. Just be aware Mt Keira might be closed, it was (sorta) when we went down there a month ago.
[ Light Blue GS500 K1 ][60,000km (and climbing), a gazillion litres of oil, and more scratches than you can poke a road at. ]

Thanks I'll give that a go. I forgot you guys went for a ride a while back.

I've got new tyres on the bike & a tune up so the bikes running bloody brilliant.   :thumb:

Ok I got back from the ride a few hours ago, 700 k's for the weekend.

We left Bathurst yesterday morning around 9am, with about 25 bikes in the group. We headed to Lithgow & down the Bells line, with a regroup at Kurrojong pub. From there went into Richmond, across to Penrith & stopping at Wallacia for lunch.

We headed from there across to heathcote, through the National park  :icon_mrgreen: regrouping at Stanwell tops. The final leg was across the Sea Cliffs Bridge and down to Nowra, arriving around 4:30.

Last night was a visit to a couple of pubs to sample Nowra hospitality.

Today was Nowra to Moss Vale via Kangaroo Valley  :thumb: :thumb:. At MV a few of us decided to head back via Golbourn instead of the intended trip up through Picton.

There were a few female riders & some blokes took their wives pillion. There was a great assortment of bikes, a couple of Ducatis, some big Jap sportsbikes & a general assortment of big bikes, with my GS being the smallest bike of the ride.

The good: National park, Kangaroo Valley, Bells Line.

The bad: Almost getting nailed by a Hilux at Richmond , the aches & pains from a big ride.
The more I learn about women, the more I love my bike.

Sounds like a good ride i drove up the old road yesterday "yes drove" and was sad to see the 60km signs everywhere its now totally ruined   its hard to stick to 60 in the car let alone the bike but thankfully there where still a few bikes up there.
You may ask why I drove on such a lovely riding day. I don't ride in april as a superstition its the highest fatality month of the year as so far the count is that I know of 1 guy from georges hall died at the camden valley bi-pass on friday evening or saturday morning and a girl died on the bells line when she crossed onto the wrong side (ran wide I guess and got cleaned up) and that was in the first 2 days of april, although as I was driving I kept thinking wish I was riding but it gives me a chance to service the bike and check over a few things.
BTW sorry if I put anybody off :thumb:

I read about that girl in the paper this morning, it put the wind up me a little as I was on that road just 24 hours before that. It was in the paper that there was 4 fatalities total over the weekend.

BTW Sydney traffic blows big time.
