Warranty...what?

ok first im a dumbass.

i bought my 2005 gs500f brand new, not a mile on it, about 9 months ago. Im 19 years old and am  incredibly naive so i just signed my life away without any questions. All that was given to me was the bike and the owner's manual. I haven't been to the dealer since my first service.

Yesterday i discovered my bike is leaking oil. dsfjkl;fdsjf;kladsjkf;sdkjlfdjsfjlkkfjds;fdslkf... (needless to say im upset, Porbably because i was trying to wheelie and burnout)

my question is,  Don't i have a warranty since the bike is less than 1 year old. What should i do? Do i take it to the dealer's shop and say , " hey i bought this bike from you 9 months ago can you fix it". Has anyone here dealt with warranty work. What are the steps that i take.

i should also mention that about seven months ago i laid the bike down and cracked the left fairing. Will that void my warranty, because if so im sure i can lie about how it cracked.

thanks

My GS500FK5 shipped with a bad battery that failed about a month ago. I took it in and they didn't need a receipt or invoice--had all the info on the computer based on my VIN--they replaced the battery under warranty. I doubt the fairing voids the warranty. I had dropped mine; there are some small scratches (no cracks) and it didn't matter a bit.

Note that this is the time of year when everyone's got their bike in the shop in preparation for spring. So you'll probably need to wait some time for them to diagnose and fix it.

FYI, the warranty is 1 year, unlimited mileage--so don't delay getting it into the dealer's shop.

when you take it in, you might want to leave out that part about wheelies and burnouts  ;)

after all, the warranty is against manufacturing defects, not riding like an idiot.  :cookoo:
2 C8H18 + 25 O2 = 16 CO2 + 18 H2O + :)
the bikeography is down for a bit
