Question on tank hoses to petcock

When I did my carb work I took off the fuel tank and the hoses that went to them.

I have everything together now and need VERY specific information here regarding the fuel hoses.

Since I replaced both of the hoses from the fuel tank to the petcock - I don't know which hose goes what petcock connection.

SO HERE'S THE OFFICIAL QUESTION....

On the FUEL TANK, there are two nipples right next to each other that the hoses connect to and then the hoses connect to the petcock - one nipple is toward the front of the bike and one nipple is towards the back of the bike.

The front nipple connects to which petcock nipple? The one towards the front of the bike or the rear of the bike?

(I have looked at the manual and can't tell)

The long tank nipple attaches to the downward-pointing petcock nipple (rear).  The short tank nipple attaches to the front outside petcock nipple.
